Let's see if Jason has continued to close the gap! Bo and Varner coaching Jason. Dake with heavy hands as the two feel each other out. Nolf warned for passivity. Dake holding center, Nolf attempts a shot, but nothing doing. Halfway through the first and not much going on. Nolf goes on the clock. Some snaps, but no real attempts to score, 1-0 Dake. Dake with an underhook, but doesn't use it. Restart with 0:35. Dake in deep on a double and they go out of bounds. Nolf does a fantastic job to start in quad pod, so it's only 1. 2-0 at the break.
2nd period starts and Dake is still holding center. Dake looks incredibly sound with his defense and Nolf can't break through. 1:30 left. Dake warned for passivity. Nolf holding center, in on a deep single, and otherworldly defense by Dake. Head pinch to chest wrap, Dake with the takedown to trap arm and a turn, 6-0 Dake. That's how it ends. Dake takes match 1.

Anyone else think that OOB situation where Dake went straight back out on knees was basically the same as the Yianni/Lee situation

I absolutely love Jason Nolf. But damned Dake is so tough.
JB/Chance up next. Chance took 1 from JB last year. Chance is a freakin' tank! Sort of some chippy handfighting from both guys to start. Chance in on a deep low single, gets the corner, JB is trying to fight it off, but Chance takes a 2-0 lead. Blood time for Chance. JB warned for passivity. Burroughs trying to work the arm drag to low single, but nothing doing. 0:30 left. Chance warned for passivity and he goes back on blood time. JB looks like he is going to try to use his speed advantage to open Chance up, but he can't get through and the 1st ends 2-0 Marsteller.

JB wants a brick thrown, maybe for a singlet grab? Slay sees something on the screen that makes him think it should be 1. And it is!! 3-3 JB on a singlet pull. Wow! Now Humphries and Chance are questioning if the brick was thrown in time. They raise JB's hand and he takes the first match.

That's one of the nuances that I'm trying to understand about freestyle. Would you have called that a point for Nolf or no point for Lee?
hey Crop - I was assuming the Nick got it due to Yianni trying to score on the edge - he tried a duck while on his knees. I see Nolf lifting Dake up and pushing out... guess that is it...

If I’m not mistaken, it was a C1 for Lee. I agree that the difference in situation would be that Yianni (allegedly) took himself OOB, where Nolf pushed Dake.
