$$$$ for assistants

I'll name 3 I think deserve raises: Stubblefield, WRs; Poindexter. Safeties and Scott, DL.
Way too soon for that. All three have done fairly well. Stubblefield is the only one I would consider at this point. Let's see what happens with recruiting. The fact that 50% of our starters on the line and in the back end are established transfers is a major red flag.

Holes in our recruiting or 4*s not panning out are driving the DL transfers coming here. DTs have some decent young players. DE recruiting has been up and down. We shouldn't have to keep converting LBs to hybrid DEs. Time for Franklin to start earning his money.

We have to give our OL coach a year or two pass IMO. But part of my brain keeps telling me unless you have elite OL talent, the OL will always look bad running the ball in an offense that is heavy on the RPO especially against good teams.

Good points sir.

The OL position is key. We used JoeMo's man/gap hybrid (but mostly man) from 16 to 19. Moved to a pure zone in 20 and now pure gap in 21. I don't blame Limegrover and I don't blame the new guy either. I won't talk about the Donovan era (worse coached offense in Big Ten history). The staff have constantly asked linemen to execute blocking schemes they are not suited for. Franklin needs to pick a scheme and stick with it long enough to get three or more recruiting classes in before switching.

Despite the 4th quarter meltdowns I think Pry should be on your list.
Absolutely not. I don't blame Pry for many of the 4th collapses, but, he has shown he can't adapt Shoop's defense to the talent on hand. We run a rigid 4-3 with 3-4 talent and have for a few years. It has cost us and that is on Pry.

Izzard and Ellies have shown improvement with increased PT and don't you think Mustipher had greatly improved until his injury? Tarburton has improved and Luketa has done well @ DE. Yes, we fortunately had the two Pirtal starters, but Scott had to have been in on their "recruitment".

Yes, inability to adjust scheme to talent is a a concern along with poorly designed/poorly timed and disguised blitzes.
