Personally I loved it. I loved the swimming motions after the TD (ala Barkley). By the way, have seen it many times in the NFL and other college players. It's a "thing" now. The home run swing and salute by Winston. Even their fans chanting We Are Penn State during Zombie Nation. Clearly they have watched a lot of PSU football. That is respect. Honestly, I would have no idea how to mock a Michigan Man, short of acting like an arrogant prick, and that might confuse others as to what team you represent. I have no idea what other things they or their fans do, except maybe rattle "keys" on 3rd downs (ala WVU, MSU, etc.).

You are right on with this. Means we got into their collective heads, which, to me, is a good thing. Hopefully we respond in kind next year.

Agree 100%

You'd think the blue blood elites over there wouldn't spend so much time thinking about lowly Penn State, but clearly we've been camped out in their heads for awhile now. Same with OSU rushing the field after our game this year. We've come a long way from losing to Ohio and UVA a few years ago

To me it just reinforces what we should all understand. This is entertainment and not life and death. Yesterday was the equivalent of a bad movie, but there is new show next Saturday. Lets hope the ratings are better.:)

Michigan fan here. Wouldn't normally post here, just like browsing leading up to and after the games. But had to post after nearly spitting out my coffee while reading this. Respect.

Rivalries are what makes the sport great. I love that PSU rolled it up last year after Michigan did the same in 2016, and now yesterday was payback for that. Next year should be fun.

Thanks Jersey Blue. Guess it’s all “good fun” and just the way it can go. It’s a tough guy sport and sometimes you have to eat it

Karma has a way of being a turf monster and reducing a long-haired, mocking player into someone writhing on the ground.

2017 was payback for 2016, teams were "even" after last season. Yesterday was unnecessary, and Michigan should have acted with class.

The idea that michigan was "disrepsected" last year is bullshit. michigan was at full strength in 2017. michigan just was beaten in all facets of the game.

Penn State was not at full strength in 2016, yet you didn't hear Penn State players whine about being disrespected. You also didn't hear Penn State players whine yesterday.

Win or lose, Penn State players have shown class. michigan players have not. If I'm a michigan athletic supporter, I'm not happy about the behavior of speight, hill, winovich, or bush. michigan is supposed to be "leaders and best" (more bullshit, but that's what they say). If that is the case, michigan athletic supporters should demand better.

Everybody is disrespected these days - I think the barista at Starbucks disrespected me today. No idea how though. Winovich is a good player but seems pretty childish- last year was PSU disrespected him by not recruiting his brother? WTF - I didn’t see his name on the Michigan roster either - it all seems a little stupid at times.

Some of you guys need to check your blood pressure. Seems like a few may have ingested significantly greater amounts of salt over the daily recommended amount.

Don't like getting scored on? Stop them. Don't like getting your ass whipped? Beat them. That goes for BOTH sides. This is what sports is all about, boys and girls. You get punched in the mouth. You gonna do something about it or just stand there and bleed?

Good luck the rest of the way BWI.....see ya next year in Happy Valley.

We sucked. Game went exactly like I thought, so who cares. Seems like when we celebrate, it's ok, but when others do, it's mocking.

Ridiculous. It's a game. I'm not a big fan of all the stupid antics, but if you are going to do them, you better be ready for them to come back on you.

It doesn't matter. Trace does his homerun thing, which is kinda making light of the other team. Fair game for others to do it when he throws a pick six. Flyers fans mock the Pens and Crosby. So what? That is what makes a rivalry. It has been said that Penn State doesn't have any natural rivalries in the B10. Well, maybe we do now and that is a good thing. Let's just hope that Penn State starts winning some games.

This lose may actually be good for Penn State. Franklin mistakenly shot his mouth off about being elite. Well, he got a lesson yesterday that there is much work to do to be elite. Reality set in, and now let's see how the team handles it. It may result in more leadership and focus like after the UM game two years ago.

We were just trying to be elite with our cheers. Well, not elite, but maybe great. Ok, well maybe not great, but good . . . Oh hell, we were trying to be ok with our cheers.

Great game, guys.

Wait, as a Michigan fan here...do you really think 2016 was being disrespectful? Because if you go back and look at the drive summaries in the 4th quarter that wasn't Michigan running up the score. That was just Penn State not being able to stop running plays. It was 28-0 at half. Did you expect Michigan to just take knees? It was 35-10 when M got the ball in the 4th. Michigan's drives were 10 plays 76yds for a td (which consisted of 2 passes for 20yds), 4 plays for 31yds and a td (all runs) and kneel downs with a 1:15 to go in the game.

That's a far cry from the check Franklin wrote when he ran no huddle inside the 10 with 5 seconds left to get an extra play off up 49-13.

Don't hold Michigan accountable because Penn St couldn't stop clock killing running plays in 16 while trying to get the game over with. If you dish it you have to be able to take it. I'll commend Franklin for that at least.

Michigan was at full strength in 2017? John O'Korn was at QB and Tarik Black (Arguably Michigan's best WR) was out with injury. So, Michigan was not at full strength offensively. And why the angst about the behavior of the Michigan players? McSorley doing his baseball swing is showing class? Penn St hurrying up to run a play in the waning seconds in last years game was showing class? It's just a game and getting worked up about it isn't good for your health :)

Why do you even care what anyone here thinks one way or the other- does it really matter to you? You guys can’t even enjoy the win without making sure the the narrative fits what you think it should be - strange.

Im just trying to understand the narrative - or how people come to them. There's so much b.s. going back and forth from both sides I'm trying to see where it's coming from. As many others have pointed out here, it's a game. It's supposed to be fun, and I have a feeling it will be for you guys next year in H.V.

Could you imagine having enough time to visit some other schools message board to make posts period... let alone about a football game that happened yesterday?!?! To think that some people make up new screen names just do to that...

When a team rushes to the line with 5 seconds to go in a 29 point game to run another play inside the 10 yard line in an attempt to score more points...the team that you attempt that BS against MIGHT remember that the next time you play...and they did. How can you guys whine about some crowd chants (which happens in every stadium in America) and a few TD celebrations (which your players last year seemed to do a lot as well)??? You guys tried to run the ball into the end zone with 5 SECONDS left in a blowout!! And you guys are the classy ones????? Did you see Harbaugh try that yesterday????

I was SCREAMING at the TV for Harbaugh to go for 2! But unlike Franklin last year, Harbaugh showed class in victory.

Just goes to show how fans see things differently. In 2016 UM threw one pass in the final 22 minutes. Not sure what more you expect them to do. Maybe take a knee the entire 4th quarter? And they did take a knee on the final drive unlike PSU last year when they tried to score with seconds left in the game. How is that classy?

Ridiculous. When Trace did it, he was celebrating an achievement that he just accomplished, when they did it, they were mocking Trace from the previous year. I can't believe I have to explain this.

You don’t have to explain it. I get what they’re doing. McSorley looks ridiculous when he does it and they were making fun of him. I have absolutely no problem with it.

Teams that are in playoff contention are scrutinized to a ridiculous level. Every drive, every point matters because it's still a dog and pony show with a ton of ambiguity instead of clearly defined achievements that lead to a playoff berth. That being said, I don't really take much issue with any team that is vying for a playoff spot from trying to enhance their resume in any way possible. It's no surprise that teams in such a position would try to run up the scores as much as possible.

Not sure why a higher ranked team needs motivation to beat a lower ranked team that's a two touchdown underdog. I think the whole revenge tour thing is stupid. As much as I can't stand OSU, their players seem to exhibit more class, than some of UM's players (Winobitch, Hill, Higdon).

Ridiculous. I didn’t see anything classless. Our quarterback’s home run swing is classier than theirs?
Do you know what the word “mock” means? The home run swing is known to be Trace’s celebration. He isn’t mocking anyone when he does it. On the other hand, when the opposition does it, they are clearly doing it not to celebrate but to denigrate Trace/PSU. Good lord.

Why does that bother you?
I mean, this sounds like one of my kids in the back seat of the van when they were younger complaining that the other was repeating everything she says.

Ok. I get it. So, all touchdown celebrations are ridiculous. Please. Some are. But Trace’s is tame compared to many.
