Former Astronaut and Senator John Glenn passes away....

sorry no link. Just saw the scroll.

Hopefully, he is at a higher height in the heavens than he ever achieved as an astronaut. I am not particularly religious, but who can't admire the life and career of John Glenn. If there is a heaven, he must be there.

Didn't like his politics, but there's no doubting his courage and the fact that he's a true American hero. May he rest in peace.

Reminds Americans of the great tribute to the Shuttle astronauts when they 'slipped the surly bonds of earth' to 'touch the face of God.'

The crew of the space shuttle Challenger honored us by the manner in which they lived their lives.

We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved good-bye and 'slipped the surly bonds of earth' to 'touch the face of God.'

A true Great American hero to last of us younger baby boomers. He had more than the Right Stuff. RIP

A life well lived. RIP, John Glenn.

John Glenn definitely lived a very good life.

The Port Columbus (OH) airport was re-named after John Glenn this past summer. Glenn was in attendance for the ceremony, which was presided over by Governor John Kasich. Glenn looked to be in pretty good shape for his age at that time, remarkably well for a (at the time) 94-year-old man.

RIP to the Senator.
 
What an amazing and historic life. Really one of our best. Thank you fine sir for your life of service and dignity.
 
Can still remember sitting in school as a kid, watching a black & white TV hooked up to rabbit ears, our classes re-scheduled for the day because of his historic orbital mission blasting off from Cape Canaveral. One of my first heroes. A sad day for America.

No doubt John Glenn served his country time and time again. Godspeed John Glenn. RIP.
