John O’Korn spent three years at Michigan, but the quarterback doesn’t exactly have fond memories of his time with Jim Harbaugh.

In a reply to a (NSFW) question about shifting loyalties of former Michigan players, O’Korn said, “it’s not the program or the school that we don’t like.”

The statement followed a Bleacher Report feature in which Wilton Speight said Harbaugh told him to not eat chicken “because it’s a nervous bird.” Between that anecdote and O’Korn’s tweet, it was a strange day in the land of Harbaugh.

RELATED: Pondering Harbaugh's opinion on chickens

And the next question is obvious: Accurate depiction of the locker room or simply a disgruntled former player?

I wouldn't put much stock in it. I'll bet you can find guys who didn't achieve or transfers who will knock Franklin.
I’d bet your way on that one, although JH has a more polarizing personality. And “we” could include few or many.

His NFL players seemed to respect him. His behavior now compared to when he was an NFL coach seems a lot different to me.

My first thought was it was about the fans but it could very well be about Harbaugh
As others have said, it doesn't matter what coach we're talking about because you can find past players that aren't a fan. See Donovan Smith regarding Franklin
Harbaugh probably is more polarizing than most though...well, other than Saban

I was re-watching PSU-Michigan last year and realized the problem wasn't O'Korn, the problem was the Michigan O-line couldn't give him any time at all, and they seemed to have an uncharacteristic lack of playmakers at wideout.

Anyway I wouldn't put too much stock in this. Plenty of players respond well to Harbaugh or he wouldn't he able to recruit the way he has. I personally prefer Franklin's style -- he is 99% positive in his communication with players on the field -- shows them lots of love, and when he criticizes, that happens behind the scenes. Harbaugh is a lot more public with his player criticisms and I really don't like his body language on game day -- he always looks constipated.

Anyway this is really the measuring stick year for Harbaugh. This is the team made up of his recruits with his systems in place and they have no real personnel weakness (assuming that OL can play better than last year). This year there will be no excuse if Michigan underachieves. If they go 9-4 again it's time for Harbaugh to go back to the NFL. But if they really jell, there's no question Michigan has the talent to win the B1G and beyond.

Apparently a bunch of kids recruited by O'Brien didn't buy into Franklin. Some transferred. Some left for the NFL early. Some stuck it out. No big deal. Two great coaches with completely different personalities.

Not for any particular commentary, but there are still (I believe) five kids on the roster that actually committed to O'Brien (M Allen, J Thomas, C Wright, D Thompkins and N Scott).

I agree with all of that. Problem is, the guy is hard to like. I mean, I like Urban as he is running a really high quality program with great graduation rates. I can understand tOSU fans liking him. I can understand liking hard nosed guys coaching at Neb, Sparty and Wiscy. But Harbaugh is just annoying and arrogant and just plain weird. Even if he wins a national championship, not sure I'd want him to be HC at PSU. I am not sure I could follow the program as closely.

PSU was just a much better football team that night last year but both O'Korn and the Michigan Oline were problems on offense ( D Moorehead out coached Don Brown THAT NIGHT by getting one on ones on Michigan's safties).

On offense Michigan has addressed the OLIne problem (which to a large part was Drevno coaching oLIne and trying to be OC at the sa me time). Ed Warrnier is now the Oline coach , he had been oline coach at ND and then Ohio State for 5 years. Many OSU experts hated that Harbaugh hired Warrnier and the word is Michigan's Oline has responded very positively to Warrnier's coaching this past spring.

The Michigan receivers lost Tariq Black to injury after game 3 (he is back this year as a sophomore) as well 5 star DP Jones and 4 star Nico Collins and Oliver Martin. They will be coached by Jim McElwain (former HC Florida and OC at Alabama). Last year the Michigan receivers were coached by a Grad Assistant!

Michigan hiring Warrnier to fix the offensive line is equivalent to Franklin hiring Moorehead as OC.

Shea Patterson won the QB competition in the spring no matter what Jim says about QB is still open.

This has been brought up before, but in San Fran .... I guess some don't learn from their mistakes.

He stated in follow up tweets that it was not about Harbaugh and then implied it was about the fans.

So...THIS IS WHAT WE ARE UP AGAINST?

If only X's and O's beat Jimmys (pun intended) and Joes.....

Can't help but think michigans players are going to be on a mission. They probably have had a belly full of hearing about their underachieving team. The game against the Irish should be telling.Whoever wins the east this year will have earned it.What a murderers row.

Ed Warnnier and Jim McElwain have the Jimmy and Joe's to work with if you believe in star rankings (Ruiz at center was recruited by Alabama, Bredeson was recruited by Wisconsin, Onwenu was recruited by MSU, PSU, and OSU)

They've been under achieving since 2004. You think they're just hearing about it now and it's going to light a fire under their asses?

"and the word is Michigan's Oline has responded very positively to Warrnier's coaching this past spring."

When do you ever hear the opposite in the spring?
It will be interesting to see if UMs OL does indeed improve, because short of Ruiz and Bredeson I am not sure who else is a true stud on the OL. And we will have to see how ruiz develops.

Surprised to hear this as I vividly recall OSU fans calling for Urban to fire Warinner and the other coach who came from Nebraska (especially after PSU abused OSU's OL). Think they were splitting playcalling duties at some point. They also complained about Warinner's lackluster recruiting.

Didn't his NFL team (San Fran) try to trade Harbaugh because his players didn't like him?

Agree but when the word is based on an OLine coach who has proved himself at OSU for 5 years there is some credence.

OSU fans wanted Warrnier fired after he became the offensive coordinator 4 years into his stay at OSU. They loved him when he only was the offensive line coach which he will be at Michigan.

I'm not sure who this "Warrnier" character is that you keep referring to in such endearing terms, but the name of the coach at UM whom OSU fans wanted to fire is Ed Warinner.

Just from a Bing search....
bunch of positive player words... didn't get many negative. Maybe he didn't have his tree house fetish back then.

What’s the General early consensus of Patterson in AA? Is he really the best QB on the roster? People I’ve spoken with from SEC land seem to think he’s a turnover machine, especially when pressured. They say he has all the physical skills you like in a QB, but is a different player after he’s been hit a couple of times.

the guy actually looks a bit unhinged to me. and his behavior appears to be getting worse.
That's because HE eats too much chicken! It's obvious as he wears those stupid looking glasses because he jerks off so much to try to stay calm he is going blind:)! Or did I get that wrong? Maybe I should have said that this Jerk Off wears stupid looking glasses because he doesn't eat chicken. It doesn't matter, you get the picture!
