He spoke about how proud he was of the seniors for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom. He added something to the effect of, “That’s how we do it at Penn State.”

I know I’m dumb and naive, but that sounds like a guy who is proud to be at Penn State and who wants to be at Penn State. Now, Franklin is who he is, and he could try to instill such a CULTURE. elsewhere, but it’s an uphill battle if the CULTURE. isn’t already in place. Not to diminish what Franklin and others have accomplished off the field, but it is easier when you are in a position to build on what is already there than to start from scratch or even have to overcome the UNDERBELLY. .

I think Franklin knows Penn State is the right place for him.

I hate me. I hate us.

I really hope you are right Bob. I'm really hoping Franklin isn't one of those coaches like like to re-build over and over again at different places. o_O

JF has the same beliefs that exist in several of PSU programs - not just football. this is the product of many people over many years who accept these values. you will even find some of these values in the non-varsity club sports. go to a place say like Florida State and try to sit a star player out of a game for some type of team rules or not going to class. if a decision like that impacted the game result, you are in an uphill fight.

CJF is a great coach for Penn State. He is working hard to do it "the Right Way." It is difficult like pushing the proverbial rock. College football is in flux considering the transfer portal and levels of compensation for staff. Assistants will move on if Penn State does not offer market level compensations to football staff. Players will move on if they are not playing. Fans want to see winning team. So many balls in motion. I am disappointed in Minn. loss. For whatever reason team was not ready to play. Injuries may have impacted the game like Rutgers game.

No way. He is doing a hell of a job at Penn State. Fans are really unbelievable.
I hope you know I'm being facetious. The gifted starets on this board insist that Rahne is responsible for global warming, the Hindenburg disaster, WW2, the sinking of the Titanic....just to name a few.

We definitely need to work together to run Franklin out of town. He’s turrible.

First we run Rahne out.....I wanna see the moving truck in the driveway....his wife and little boys wailing and crying as their furniture is loaded for storage and destinations unknown. This is the minimum that will satisfy the beast that was insulted with a 10-2 season. We want to be elite......LOL.......

Lynching in front of old main is the minimum that they all deserve. LOL. How dare they lose!

I heard on TV that this year's SRs won 42 games the last 4 years, the most at PSU since 1997. Is this true?

CJF and coaches ... starting with a sanctions team. > 70% W/L record since day 1. These coaches are "turrible".

I don't know about any of that but a very good source tells me Rahne was responsible for the demise of the chicken cosmo sandwich. My source also tells me Rahne helped develop the McRib. That alone should be enough to ship him to Siberia.

This is incorrect. It is ridiculous to assert that Rahne is responsible for global warming. The fact is he is responsible for climate change.

Fortunately the players always execute the plays perfectly, so it’s easy to say that if a play doesn’t work it’s a bad play call.

The QBs missing a majority of their deep throws and receiver drops and poor separation had no bearing on our passing game.

Once we get him outta the way, we can muster our forces against Smith and Parker. We should not rest until we are heard and PSU has NO coaches.

I don't understand, I've seen other teams catch the ball. "Good plays" are called and go for touchdowns. I think Pitt had one in the last two games alone!

Being a sport fan is a voluntary position which guarantees that half the participants will be unhappy with the results of a contest. Did they all have to land here?

Always missing the forest for the trees.

Rahne alone was responsible for Mogadishu ... and New Coke!

What is "market level compensation"? What is PSU paying?

I've always been told "you get what you pay for". Therefore, since we want to be elite, we need to give him an "elite" paycheck. I take elite to be CFP, so top 4 paycheck in the country. By paying for it, we should get it (back to getting what you pay for). Now, if they expand the playoffs to 8, then it only needs to be top 8.

if the players don't execute perfectly then it is chalked up to lack of player development

well if its not that then why were they recruited? someone pulled the trigger on these players, someone offered a scholarship in the hope that the player was teachable and right fit...I sure would hate that they are just throwing schollies at a wall and hoping they stick ..because if not, it is on the the coach who hand picked these players to develop these players else WTF are they doing?? definition of coach is to teach and train and manage

what are you babbling about?

you can be a great player and still blow a play you know

a lot of board posters want to give credit to the players when we win big against a Michigan but somehow blame coaches when we don't execute and lose to a Minnesota

some games are there for the taking and the players on the field have to actually make the play, it isn't a condemnation of the player's ability if they don't and it shouldn't be a condemnation of the coaches if they don't......sometimes you try and don't get it done....it happens to everyone at times....it doesn't mean that your coaches aren't doing their jobs or that the players are subpar....it just happens

Come on, apparently Nick Saban forgot how to coach this year...two losses....that man has to go!

We’re lucky that our losses are only a result of avoidable mistakes by our coaches and players. What a luxury to be in total control of the outcome. Could you imagine if we played teams with talented players and coaches who actually wanted to win too?

Yea, if we had elite coaches we could just dictate the outcome of each play. No matter that the other team also has really good players and coaches.
