Franklin named semi-finalist for Maxwell Club Coach of the Year

From the article:

"Penn State’s James Franklin could become the third Penn State coach to win the award, joining Joe Paterno (1990, 2005) and Bill O’Brien (2012)."

Go James Go!

He definitely belongs in the conversation. Winning out will go a long way towards his chances of winning.

I didn't see 'The Dooz' on that list? It can't possible be a good list without The Dooz...that guy is a coaching genius...He coached a bunch of shlubs to only give up 14 against Duke!

That isn't the same Maxwell Football Club that crapped on Joe Paterno is it?

Found this blurb on Wiki:

In 2010, the Maxwell Football Club of Philadelphia established the Joseph V. Paterno Award, to be awarded annually to the college football coach "who has made a positive impact on his university, his players and his community." Following the breaking of the Penn State child sex abuse scandal the following year, the award was discontinued by the club.

Sounds like someone should be "outraged", no?

How is this even possible? I thought Franklin was a snake oil salesman who can't coach, who was on the hot seat, and who would never compete with Meyer, Harbaugh, and Dantonio?

Without looking at who the other semi-finalist may be (probably what's his name at Washington), I'd put my money on Franklin.
