Franklin to Iowa

Is this a surprise? I recall a couple posts on this board that Franklin liked PSU, but have no idea about their veracity.

I assume they didn’t have much money left over. I could see Franklin having a great college career. TJ would be a huge grab though

More good news for Iowa? Awesome. 🙄

It's been 164 days since Levi committed. We're overdue.

We'll take him! Welcome Kolby. Keeping that pipeline going :)

I'm thankful David Taylor showed him all the things at M2. I'm sure Kolby will make him proud😉

I was hoping Gavin would be able to start really keeping some PA kids in state at Pitt

Gavin has done a really good job of it lately.

Looking at their roster/incoming recruits, PA state champs: Jake Wentzel (2x), Micky Phillippi (3x), Cole Matthews (2x), Brock McMillen (3x), Dan Mancini, Jared McGill, Luca Augustine, Briar Priest, Dayton Pitzer (2x)

PA state finalists: Nino Bonaccorsi (2x), Gage Curry, Jake Slinger, Ryan Michaels, Kolby Flank, Colton Camacho, Ethan Finch, Mac Stout

Their recruiting has dramatically stepped up since Gavin took over.

Not yet but soon

McGill is gone

Franklin is tough, but wouldn't significantly impact the Nits lineup anytime soon. I would project him as a solid college level wrestler, but low on the medal stand on a good year.
I could be way off base but Kolby suddenly committing to Iowa kind of has a "Thomas Haines" type feel to it. If I were to guess, PSU didnt make him as much of a priority that he may have anticipated with the current roster situation and all. I wouldnt be surprised to see PSU grab a 184 in next years class if Aaron plans on bumping up or even a 197 two years out if he doesn't.

You might be onto something ;)

Perhaps. But apparently PSU liked Franklin enough to invite him to visit campus for a recruiting weekend aa few weeks ago.

Oh dont be mistaken, I'm sure Cael would have loved to have had him... would also bet he offered up but doubt it would have been much at all with the current structure of the roster. I'm projecting here but I think Kolby was also aware Cael may be placing a higher priority on a couple other guys.. in fact, I think we see a commitment from someone soon. But yeah.. like I said in my last post, I'm spitballin' here so could be totally wrong on this.

Spitball that mud! Some will stick

So you think Cael offered up top recruit type money to a kid that will already have not one but possibly 2 AAs (one a national champion) at his weight? I knew you were dumb Turk but come on now...
Why are you telling me what I think again? The only thing I've sayed is welcome Kolby! And thanks M2 for training him up a bit
