The reality of this hit me when we met an actual 5 star recruit on vacation a couple years ago. The father was asking me about PSU and State College. They visited and loved it. Even said Franklin was the only head coach that knew so much about his son. But the kid went somewhere else. We saw them the next year on vacation again and the father said his son wanted to win a championship and just didn’t feel Franklin could win big games ever. Then the 5 star QB from my sons football team skipped PSU because of Franklin concerns
