about the same as a R/S Sophomore, who before this year didn't have any PT.
Our RS sophomore, though, has the B1G championship game experience under his belt.
Has the kid not played in several "big games" already?
UW: 23-33 287 2 TD
UCLA: 25-36 267 2 TD
UC: 25-37 358 3 TD
Can the PSU D slow him down enough to set PSU up for a win?
I think so.....but not because the kid is going to spit the bit in his first "big game"

Darnald is the best QB that PSU has faced all year. Heck, SC is probably the best team they've played all year as it should be. Next to Bama and Clemson, this is the best Bowl matchup.
Obviously, it'll be the first game of the year. I'll show myself out.

UC = Colorado (not Cal)
and, yes, for USC, UCLA is a "big game" (not a great opponent, but a "big game")
The question was "how many of those losses came after they (USC) put a competent QB under center"?

I can offer some unique insight. I am a B1G alum (Indiana), but my son is on the USC team and one of his roommates is Sam Darnold. Sam is a low key, unassuming young man. He doesn't get flustered by the moment. I have watched many B1G games this year and Sam is easily the best QB you will face.

Talking about USC's 1-3 start is like talking about PSU's 2-2 start...both of our teams are quite different than they were in September.
Both teams have significantly improved and if it wasn't for their starts, both could have been in the playoffs. In fact, many commentators believe the two schools were among the four best at the end of the season. USC toyed with Washington just like Alabama did last night. They couldn't move the ball at all against USC outside of one play where Adoree Jackson slipped.
The weather for tomorrow's game will be mid-50's and partly cloudy...less than 10% chance of showers. That is pretty winterish by our standards, but should be great for the players. Good luck tomorrow guys. Thank you for letting me post.
I watched the Washington game and you did not "toy" with Washington. Game was in doubt all the way to the end.

UW had 17 yards rushing the entire game
Aside from the 70 yard "slip and fall", UW had 200 yards of offense
USC had 400 yards of offense
USC won by 2 TD after effectively "taking a knee" near the UW goal line in the final two minutes

Thank you for putting out the facts. I started to reply with my own snarky comment, but deleted the post instead. I have always had great respect for JoePa and PSU. We have even invited some PSU fans to our tailgate tomorrow.
