Thanks to the help of @brandonjustice of the UM site, he will now be joining us over here to post a couple of his top bets throughout the week. So let's begin with some of his top Friday bets.
LAST WEEK: 7-4
THIS WEEK: 10-8
First losing day of the week last night, going 1-2 on the night. Still a net positive week, though, so let's keep it that way!
NBA:
Game: OKC @ PHI, 7:00PM (O/U 206.5)
Edges: There's a 61% money differential on this total with 10% of the bets on the under compared to 71% of the money. The line has moved a point in the under's direction with the big money coming in on the under. Philly doesn't have James Harden yet as he's listed as doubtful and it won't have the same depth it had before the trade.
Pick: u206.5
Game: CHA (-7) @ DET, 7:00PM
Edges: Why not have some fun with the hometown team tonight? Not for emotional reasons, but because the signals are telling us it's a good idea. While the public is only placing 10% of bets on the Pistons, 94% of the money is on Detroit. Following 90% of the tickets landing on Charlotte, Vegas moved the line a half-point out from 6.5 to 7, and sharps came in to hammer that +7 line.
Pick: DET +7
Game: ORL @ UTA, 9:00PM (O/U 223)
Edges: Utah is playing its fifth-straight game at home and the total has gone under in each game, including Wednesday night when the Jazz held the Warriors to 85 points. Orlando, on the other hand, is off of a two-day rest. Orlando has given up as many as 135 points and as little as 95 in its last five games. When the Magic play good teams, though, they're regularly giving up more than 115 points. With both teams rested, the Jazz at home again, and the theory that surely a fifth consecutive Jazz home game won't go under you have enough to wager, however, we love signals around here. 99% of money to go along with 47% of bets is on the over and the line has moved accordingly. I think it continues to move and I'll buy it up to 225.
Pick: o223
He will have some college picks coming later today.
