new fans that suggest that over the course of wrestling history, that Cael Sanderson, Stan Abel, John Smith, Dan Gable, Bobby Douglas and all the legendary DI wrestling coaches missed a loophole to the NCAA tournament rules is effing outlandish.
Yeah but, new PSU fans will only recognize one of those names, AND the internet has made everyone Sherlock Holmes. How they're already Willie and CP fans is curious though.... ;)

i don't think that's (click bait/modern marketing) is accurate.

you gotta admit, getting several emails suggesting that PSU could enter 2 guys at one weight in the post season (while implying the whole wrestling world missed that loophole since the beginning of time) is pretty darn funny.

damn funny, Willy, damn funny (CP isn't around). But if you needed a laugh look up SPYKER's comments (any of them)!

I finished reading this thread. Very good... had me chuckling in my drink - great job everyone

You and the Hawkeye faithful can keep battling over "The Most Knowledgeable Fanbase.” Meanwhile, PSU will just calmly keep bringing home the National Championship trophy.

hate to be that guy, but if it's so obvious that it can't be done, why hasn't anyone provided the rule that outlaws sending 2 wrestlers to ncaas?

Or change the rules to be like the Scuffle. Each team can enter 15 wrestlers and only the highest scorer counts. It would add more days to the tourney and produce more revenue.

I believe the fact that you can only send one wrestler per weight to the Big Ten and all other qualifying tournaments makes the question moot as per the NCAA

so, since it looks like I'll be going, I'll bring 3 signs: 1) 197#, Cael knows best; 2) Should have had a Cassar; or 3) We want Cassar, too!

FLO continues to bring the heat and say what the world is thinking. FRL #271 at the 51 minute mark:

Kyle Bratke on Penn State fans "They respect nothing unless it wears Blue & White".
CP "yes, exactly".
Penn State Willy futilely tries to defend.

Heat? More like lukewarm water

just listened and while Jammz is clearly for the 2nd week in a row trying to stir the pot...he is accurate with what was said.

Dare I say, that after listening to it, its actually worse then the view Jammz framed.

The large majority of FRL listeners wish PSU would not dominate the field, and are all too happy to eat up dumb generalizations like this; makes them feel vindicated, and more engaged with Flo then they otherwise would. We just have to get a thicker skin--the byproduct of being mid-dynasty. Imagine how New England Patriot fans must feel....

I was amazed to hear a few weeks back that Bratke hadn’t yet been to Rec Hall.

We need to squash your beef with Cael, bro.
Duster, you are probably still upset that I turned your "Everything Penn State" thread into an Arte Deco masterpiece. But if you are not announcing this year here is my tip for the best way to enjoy a state tourney.
The old Civic Center had a single seat on the north end that was extremely close to mat 1, right on top of the coaches. I think it was originally a handicapped area that they then moved elsewhere. After a few years of trying to follow all the action on 8 mats while my eyes kept glazing over, or futilely running around the arena trying to get close to the big matchups, I discovered that the best way to follow state was to simply zone in on a single mat. Yes, you do miss the big matchups across the way, but what you gain is all the excitement and action of two guys fighting for their lives with you right next to it. Also, some of these little-known wrestlers that you're not so excited about watching turn into big names later on.
