All aboard the hype train!

"Unlike the other teams on this list, Penn State doesn't have a long term quarterback answer. The only five-star at the position is likely heading to the NFL after this season. The way Penn State is stacking recruiting classes though, all they'll need long term at the quarterback position is a bus driver. Bob Shoop's stifling defenses and a steady stream of big play offensive talent should continue to elevate Penn State into the national conversation."

Future's bright at Penn State!

Nice to see but we're going to have to beat OSU, MSU, & UM just to get to the conference title game. Is there a stronger division in any conference?

Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss St, Texas A&M

But staying on topic- love that article. Win this year and the snowball is going to start rolling really fast

Penn St might be the favorite in the big ten next year. That automatically puts them in a NC discussion.

As for Big ten east vs Sec west...it's a tough one. I think the bottom three for the sec west are certainly stronger, but the top four is close if osu, Michigan and Penn state are all at their best...those three have been the most consistent programs over the last 25-30 yrs and that counts alabama...over the last ten different story

Those teams have to play each other, and PSU. Should be some years where a 1-loss team wins the division or wins on a tiebreaker. In that scenario, this 1-loss team could win the conference championship game and a good chance of qualifying for the 4-team playoff (certainly qualify for an 8-team playoff). We've already seen the example in the SEC.

Yes, tough division, but the way CJF is recruiting, Penn State will be up to the task.

Things are looking bright, but we will have to escape the NJ jaugernaught each year. Osu, um, and the team from upper peninsula dont worry me.

Things are looking up, but this team has a long way to go to be considered National Title contenders. One thing it must do is beat Ohio State and consistently and it has never done that. I am just worried about 2015 and being better.

Nobody beats Ohio St consistently. With Meyer there a more realistic goal is to play them even where we win a few and they win a few.

Quite frankly considering where we just were, I'm plenty pleased with our current path. Seriously who could have predicted our roster would be so quickly restocked with upper tier talent?

We went from left for dead to national contender talk in just a few years.

The media pronounced us left for dead, but I thought our 2012 roster was pretty ok and had some very talented guys on it. I really don't know if were ever dead. The NCAA tried, but our program and its history was way powerful.

Team from the upper peninsula? Lake Superior State University?

After watching Big Ten teams open up a can of whoop ass on the SEC West in the latest bowl season, I would not be so quick to put the SEC West at the top of the heap. Think the Big Ten is in the conversation. The Pac 12 South looks pretty loaded this season. Lots of ranked teams there, and SC, UCLA and ASU look pretty good. Even Arizona will be pretty decent. Not sure what to make of the Big 12, with Texas looking really bad, Oklahoma struggling, and Baylor and TCU on top.
