Late in Ravens Browns game the nose tackle for Ravens, a guy named Peirce that weighs over 350 lbs, dropped back into pass protection about eight yards off the line.

Amazingly he made a nice move to make an interception! Ran five yards and quickly dropped to his knees. His teammates went crazy as did the overly excitable Fowler.

He’s a graduate of Samford University in Homewood, AL. Same school that’s produced Bobby Bowden, Jimbo Fisher, Duck Hodges, and James Bradberry. My daughter is a freshman playing club lacrosse for the Bulldogs.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say he is way over 350 lbs. I don’t care what they list him at. To his credit he was smart enough not to try and return the interception.

A quick example, I played FCS college football and weighted around 280. At the time I happened to run into Hank Fraley, who was the Eagles center at the time. Hank and I are the same height and I think he was listed at 310 at the time. Hank was no exaggeration twice as wide as me and I was a pretty big and muscular guy at the time. No way he was 30 pounds heavier. More like 50-80 pounds heavier. I firmly believe most of these NFL linemen are significantly heavier than their listed weight.

I’m not sure that’s something to be proud of but I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Just make sure you slim down a little when your playing days are done, Big Mike.

That was great. Thanks for sharing that. Shame he didn't try rumble further. You got to love a moment like that.
