Floated the idea to some friends from NJ (Rutgres grads) about renting a house for the Rutgres game on Thanksgiving weekend. Not a large group, would need 3 bedrooms/ baths.

Anyone from the AKB done this and have suggestions?

I did it and had good success, but this was 10-15 years ago.
It s really nice wit ha group to be able to have a kitchen and a living room instead of a cramped hotel room, or hotel room hall - yes I used to sit out in the hallway with friends while the babies slept in the rooms

If you need any tickets, I have 4 for sale in section NK, row 42 that are covered and near the aisle. Email me if you would be interested or want to see a picture from the seats.

I’ll rent you our vacation home in state college. 4 beds rooms 3 1/2 baths. 800 square foot rec room with wet bar. $5000 for the weekend. That should put me on the same pricing track as the state college hotels.

At that price you’re the most expensive rental on Airbnb. And I looked at Michigan weekend which will bring more than Rutgers.

It was tongue in cheek on commentary regarding hotels prices in SC. I’m sure it would be the most expensive but I’m guessing one of the nicest homes too. There is no way we would rent out. Plus we bought it to avoid the hotels and use it for all games among other times. We are here now. Real estate has been a great investment in SC. Our value has grown quickly.

Good luck on your search.

Rent like a champion is great. What you’ll find now is PA forced all the companies to collect the hotel occupancy tax from the guests now (coincidentally state college just raised the rental tax to the max allowed in the state). When you’re renting a house for $2,000, that tax sucks. Luckily when you rent a house, you can split it between 12 people. When you rent a hotel room, it’s all on you.
