Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Penn State vs. Central Michigan

Penn State's third drive of the game is an ugly one. Penn State goes three and out and will need a nice punt out of Barney Amour here to flip the field position.

Would also like to see Lambert-Smith breakout soon...kind of quiet this season. Someone alluded to on the pregame that WR still hasn't emerged as a stretch the field kind of group....little disappointing that KLS is still inconsistent

Why is Singleton returning kicks? We are down to 3 RB's without Lee and your only homerun threat at that position is returning kicks. SMH. There has to be another option.

Clifford looks great
Run game looks terrible so far
Which has contributed to the 2nd worst 3rd down offense percentage in the B1G so far...much of that is to be able to still run the ball without relying on big runs. The OL has gotten better...but still a work in progress. The right side is concerning.

At times Singleton does not look like he is running full speed. On the KO return he seemed to kind of go half speed up to the pack to see if there's a hole instead of trying to burst through a hole. Love him, but if he's not wreckless enough to go all out on the KO's PSU might be better served letting someone that doesn't get as many snaps in the offense, or a DB with speed, return the KO's.

Despite the two drops - I think Clifford's looked good today passes are on target, reading defenses and coverage well as well.

Yep, I get the idea like we did with Barkley, but he is a true freshman, and it's a long season. Why when we are down to 3 RB's today without Lee is he returning kicks. SMH

Penn State's defense putting together some concerning drives back-to-back here. CMU may eclipse Auburn's total of 12 last week in the first half. Something I didn't have on my bingo card.

Touchdown Central Michigan. The Chippewas have made this a whole new ballgame. Penn State 14 Central Michigan 14 Q2 6:25 remaining.

When DeLuca and Sutherland have to play LB b/c the recruiting has labored in that area recently, this is partly what happens. No way either should be playing meaningful snaps. Meanwhile, a lack of a running game also contributes to why it's 14 all.

Lots of teams sleepwalking today--Georgia too
Problem with playing a MAC school after Auburn
Yes, sleepwalking...but our LBs, specifically Sutherland and DeLuca are brutal. The OL aint great either. Very disappointing in our deep passing game...guys just aren't getting open.

We do have some concerns as do most teams but even with Sutherland and DeLuca we should be able to kill Central Michigan

Well this is going really well. I thought the o-line grew leaps and bounds last week?

OLine seems to be in dream land today. Every running play 2 or 3 dlinemen break into the backfield. No edge set on the outside runs. And an inconsistent pocket when Clifford drops back.

Put in the 2nd team for a series and let the starters get their heads together......

looks like we are back to our pre auburn OL blocking schemes. No pulling, trap blocks...Central Michigan is winning the line of scrimmage
