That's too bad. I knew his father, and Garrett tried to help his family through a very rough financial time, and felt leaving early for the NFL would be in their best interests. His entire family stayed committed to PSU even after the scandal and sanctions.
Garrett did not finish his degree requirements before leaving, and was doing some online classes - not sure if he finished or not.
Wish him well.
Garrett was roommates with Hack in an off campus apartment. Garrett’s dad told me a story when he and his wife made an unexpected visit to State College.Hack and Brenneman had very nice things to say about Garrett and his father in their podcast that came out this week. Good luck to him
I liked the segment Adam used to do on Penn Live every week but they stopped doing it for some reason?I am surprised that these podcasts have not received more attention on this board but Adam Breneman's interviews are very interesting. Of course unlike most people he has the standing to get the interviewees to talk about the difficult times. In the interview with Sickels (I finally got around to this one) he got Garrett to talk about why he was suspended against Ohio State. I had never heard this before. Also Garrett goes into detail about how Coach Franklin arrived at a difficult time and worked to win over the players.

In the McGloin interview Adam asked Matt about the altercation before the bowl game but Matt did not bite. However, Matt's love of football came across loud and clear. I still wonder how good Curtis Drake could have been without the injuries and off field issues.
I have not yet listened to the interviews with Haley, Cabinda and Mauti but I am looking forward to them.
Adam seemed to be a terrifically cordial fellow and one who I suspect will always have friends. No proof, but I imagine he will be friends with the program for many years.not to be rude but what is his podcast going to be like when he has no more friends to interview?

Leaving early really paid off for him, kind of like Deon Barnes
In fairness to Sickels, his family hit a major financial problem in his junior year, his dad was a public official so it was in the news.Leaving early really paid off for him, kind of like Deon Barnes
