Kid is already a legend in my book. Loves PSU.
Something about the kid really makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. You guys surely have read of his comments after the Pittsburgh game, he was really speaking for the team then, what a leader the kid is.
His remarks after that game were legendary and were the foundation to the start of this amazing season.
Great news. His "draft status" will more than escalate because of this move than if he declared early.

Smart for him and great for PSU. He will get another year of getting stronger, bigger etc before he lights up the combine. He can use the extra year to become a better blocker. Great for PSU. McSorley will have all of his weapons plus a few new ones

Would be surprised if Godwin leaves. Depending on what site you use, he is ranked as approximately the 30th WR. Not sure what round that grades out to be, but would have to be a late round pick. Not much $$ in being a late round pick. He could definitely improve his draft stock by staying in college.
Every single kid in this program that remembers the name Deion Barnes, will think twice before making a hasty decision, and will certainly stay clear of people without concrete facts, trying to give them "advice".
I'm hoping PSU is lucky there - Godwin may be dominant on the college level but I don't think he's a 1st or 2nd rounder YET. He comes back next year, he'll be able to play in some big games and raise his national profile, maybe have a shot at making all-American. That doesn't make him a 1st rounder but it certainly gives him better bargaining power if he's a middle-round pick. Plus, he gets to be part of this team as it continues its upward trajectory -- while finishing his degree at PSU. I don't see a lot of downside. If he were projected as a 1st-2nd round pick it would be a different matter -- in that case generally they should take the money. But 5th-6th round, the money is not great, and for most NFL player that first contract is the only big one they'll get.
What did he say after the Pittsburgh game? I vaguely remember something, but no details. I guess I can google it as easy as you guys can...
I don't think any of them are leaving early. I figured Gesicki would be the most likely and readiest. Now that's settled. Maybe Godwin will seek advice from Allen Robinson.

What an incredible group of young men on this team. To persevere the way they have after the UM game. To never quit despite double digit deficits multiple times. The pride, the grit, the determination ....now Mike G sticking for his senior season.
Since it was my senior year, I don't think any team could ever displace '86 as my favorite team all time. 2016 is easily 2nd on that list.

If Godwin is the 30th ranked WR out of the draft eligible WRs, he is looking at 4th round at best but likely 5th or later. Average signing bonus in 4th round was 550k and 5th 175k. F you drop to 6th round you are looking at 50k.
Godwin is a gamer and good WR. But isn't blazing fast and isn't super tall. If he can put up good numbers in 2017, I would assume he could climb significantly higher than he is currently ranked.

It continues to amaze me that all these fans continually just assume that every single kid that puts on a uniform, cares only about the NFL and money.
