Getting Even Gooder Now In East Lansing

So, question...since Spanier is technically still in the HDFS department as faculty, is it a dick move to forward him the job posting for the MSU president and encourage him to "get back on the horse"?
How do you compare and contrast yourself, personally and professionally, relative to Dr. Spanier?

You two seem to have much in common, but then there are the “differences”

He was the president of the University and I work at the University as not the president. He's old and I'm not as old as he is. He probably has way more money than I do, but I've never been charged with a crime. I mean, there are certainly differences. We do both shop at Target though, I've seen him there more than once.

Now that it happened on her watch- she excuses herself completely, accepts no responsibility or accountability, and puts out a statement portraying herself as some sort of martyr sacrificing herself for “team MSU”.

Double standard. Arrogance. Hypocrisy.
This x 1000!!!!

She ignored lessons from our community, choosing rather to pile on. I wonder if even now, she realizes that she chose wrong, the result of which put members of her own community in continued peril at the hands of a serial predator?

"but I've never been charged with a crime"...I trust you are bragging and not complaining??

So....Simon apologizes to the victims - - - - apologizes for NASSAR's sins (read her resignation letter at the link below).

Someone ought to take a baseball bat to that Bitch.

becahttps://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/embattled-michigan-state-president-lou-anna-simon-resigns/ar-AAv8mjO?ocid=spartanntp&ffid=gz

Apologizes to the victims, because "Nassar was evil".

REALLY?

Hey, Dipshit -

These victims are not offended by you - they are not owed an apology from you - because NASSAR WAS EVIL.

They are owed an apology from you (to say the least) - you ignorant, stupid, deceitful Bitch - because you and the rest of your dipshit, ivory-tower, hypocritical assholes - - - when these young ladies came to the folks - like yourself - who were placed in positions of trust - you told them to go away.

Apologize for what YOU did - you pretentious bitch.

Don't insult these victims.
Don't insult the intelligence of everyone who hears your :

"I am sorry - - - - that SOMEONE ELSE was bad". bullshit.

If you can't face up to what YOU did..... at least minimize the disgust we have for you - - - - and just go the F away - quietly.

Bitch.

That's all I have to say about Ms Simon. And hope I never see her criminally-ugly f-ing mug ever again.
It was a terrible statement, but I'm guessing most of it was written with not providing any further lawsuit fodder...

Not sure why you are upset, but it's just human nature to consider other people's failings as a victory for us. Sports, politics, personal matters, we all take some level of enjoyment in other people's failings.
Empathy is for the alumni and fans who had nothing to do with their sins...we all should know what guilty by association feels like (even though their narrative hasn’t included anything about a deprived sports-obsessed culture). That said, LAS piled on and publically admonished our culture based solely on media reports, and it is for her open hypocrisy that I share no empathy for her.

What's done is done, so, no, it is not bad to hope that she and her coterie go to jail.
Agree.

But this isn't going to help anyone. There needs to be a serious investigation as to what went on and why. If there is criminal intent, so be it. However, these "good guy predators" are and will be hard to find. I mean, you walk in on some well credentialed Dr. examining a gal "down there" and they tell you it is therapy for a sports injury WTF do you do? I've had to "turn my head left and cough" quite a few times in my lifetime.

In the end, just like with our situation, it is just going to make people LESS inclined to report incidents.

I don't disagree. I was trying to be empathetic to the pos(t)er.

Maybe if some people go to jail, the next time a coach thinks about shaming a sexually assaulted athlete out of reporting his/her abuser they won't for fear of jail time. Maybe a University President won't disregard multiple reports of sexual assault by one of his/her employees.
