You have done a good job sticking with your building process! These were the worst sanctions since SMU, and you have stuck with it! This could be a 4 to 5 year job, but I feel it's heading in the right direction! Thanks for the tireless effort you put forth everyday. We Are!!!

Franklin did a great job recruiting and continues to do so. With his efforts, we will be competitive sooner than otherwise. Mikearc, ever wondered what is going on with men and women basketball teams! The same could have gone on with football for decades.

Finish the recruiting cycle strong Franklin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep who we have and a miracle flip or shocking 5 star recruit would not hurt one of these years.

No, I think he meant he wanted his nuts!

Exactly, he was attempting one of those implied "I" based sentences such as "Thank you." which is an abrieviated version of "I thank you" where the "I" is implied (or "Love that.", etc...). In this case, I thinks it's pretty clear he was going for "I want your nuts", but just had poor execution.

Anyone that doesn't feel Franklin is doing a good job is apparently a troll. I can't see why anyone criticizes our fanbase with lack of objectivity.

No, anyone that consistently posts as a fan yet never has anything positive to say and sides WITH every insulting post from a fan of another team is a troll. No true fan only sees the negatives in a team or coach. It's just like when someone picks on your brother, he may drive you crazy and piss you off, but if someone else picks on him you stick up for him. The trolls on here don't do that and we know who you all are. It's pretty transparent.

Bill O'Brien inherited a veteran team. He lost Silas Redd, in hindsight he wasn't missed. The field Goal kicker was the only transfer that hurt. Even though the loss at Virginia shouldn't have come down to that. He had terrible losses with much deeper rosters than JF. It is evident that trolls want to create the perception that the fan base is unhappy with JF to derail our recruiting class at the last minute.
Even if the O'Brien lovers want to anoint his coaching genius, there is no disputing his deceptions "The lawsuits are not helping." and the fact that he had no intention of being here one day longer than he absolutely had to. The likelihood of Billy Boy returning with his offensive genius is about the same as the return of JVP. This isn't Pitt. We actually have a coach who wants to be here and he has overwhelming support.

How are we running down Bill. He is regarded by those in the coaching world as many levels above franklin. When Bill landed here, many commentators/former coaches felt he would take a head coaching job in the nfl at some point. He was sought after in year two if not earlier. Franklin hasn't received interest from any school or nfl team. Wtf

Bill has super bowl rings as an OC. Wtf are you people thinking? You will do anything to trash someone that has left the program.

Bill doesn't have any Super Bowl rings as an OC. Heck he might be the only Patriots OC under Brady who didn't get a ring.
Bill OBrien is overrated. He was an OK coach who couldn't wait to make more money and get in the NFL. I will take Franklin anyday over OBrien. He loves Penn State, sells the school and football program with optimism and is a tremendous recruiter.

OB was the right coach at the right time. We needed somebody with an NFL connection as our recruiting angle when we couldn't sell competing for championships.

However, I somewhat agree that he was a little overrated. His record at PSU was 15-9. I think I counted 11 guys from his teams (only looking at starters) who went on to have an NFL start. That's as many as the 2008 and 2009 PSU teams that went 22-4.

After Joyner lied through his collective teeth to hire him, O'Brien lost all confidence in PSU. The contract adjustment was a bad attempt to smooth over things, but the damage was done. He wanted out and with the joebots unwilling to grasp that paterno was dead, he left for the NFL. He is far superior to what you have now and has the smarts and savy to beat the big boys. He wanted to coach football, not be caught up in all the BS that still infects the program.

Better to trash someone who's left the program than constantly trash someone who's still with the program, wants to be at the school and is doing everything they can to build up the program.

Troll. Franklin hasn't lost to OSU 63-14 or Indiana by 20 with less talent and 20 fewer scholarship players.

Sure call me a troll. Fine but the fact remains O'Brien would have been the coach to get the program achieving success in time. Maybe you didn't see how far your five star QB regressed under the present program. He is just way better and I think many nitters think all things being equal, that is the case. The secret to ecomomic forecasting is to keep forecasting. The secret to the lack of success is to keep blaming those unjust sanctions.

If not for Alan Robinson making circus catches on hail mary passes you wouldn't have an argument.

Yeah, that's completely wrong. He said himself when he took the job that 2015-2016 would be the tough years. That's why he left when he did. He didn't recruit olinemen and his plan from the get go was to get back to the NFL. He said as much during the first and second years as he kept reminding everyone that coaching in the NFL was the top of his profession. He definitely is not better than what we have now. He'll be on the market in a year or two then he'll be back where he belongs as a coordinator. He was never more than that. He has no rings as an OC and certainly didn't "develop" tom brady. He rode his screaming fit with Brady and then "success" at a program with sanctions (that he never had to really deal with) to a head coaching job. But we all know that won't last. His offense sucked this year as it will next year.
