I live in Florida and have lots of SEC fans here.
I was waiting at the hospital pharmacy with a guy wearing an LSU hat and we started talking about college football. He seemed very knowledgeable and not too insufferable.
The first part of the conversation was about the QB transfer from Ohio State, Joe Burrow. He said it was highly probable that Burrow would start ahead of the other QBs which had some program experience. We both agreed that with all of the talent LSU typically recruits, they just can not get a QB who can make plays against good defenses.
The second part was the make up of the final four teams. It was his opinion that the SEC log jam was broken last year and that going forward it would be more probable that the SEC could argue for 2 teams.
I was surprised that he was aware of CC PSU not going in 2016 and CC OSU not going in 2017.
He wasn't obnoxious about it, but it was his thought that the second best team in the SEC would generally be better than the best team in the BIG. Southern speed, yada/yada/yada.
Illustrates the colossal strategic error by Delaney to push for OSU in 2016 and cheapen the importance of the BIG championship. Going forward. any BIG champ with 2 losses is at risk to get left out.
