Hall v Valencia

Zahid was pretty scary. Amazing quickness for a guy that tall. Does he grow into 184?

As for Mark, he was very cautious in neutral. Seemed the plan was to win with his astounding defense and in scrambles. It worked like a charm!

Mark and Zahid know and respect one another. Very tactical match.

Zahid makes a pretty good cut to 174. He wrestles 84kg (185 lbs.) in freestyle and is not small. I don't know ASU's situation very well, but Zahid would seem like a good fit at 184.

I have no earthly clue how Zahid makes 174 next year. He looked around 200 pounds against Mark.

Anthony looks even bigger for 165. I'm sure big bro is begging Zahid to bump up.

Add in Shields who is probably more comfortable at 165. Though 165 is tough for the next few years.

By the way, saw your response on themat forum to Jammen's question concerning whether or not Minny has the "best" assistant coaches. Too easy for ya. Eh? Hilarious.

I think Jammz is funny as hell.

Cue someone to give me the Willie Saylor treatment.

The Mark who teched Nolf in FS means absolutely nothing for folkstyle matchup with Zahid. Not even in the slightest bit comparable

1) they were wrestling
2) my sense is that Nolf did not want to loose.
3) Hall v Valencia will be won from neutral.

Great call above - spot on....the match was determined from neutral late in the 3rd period on a throw with both wrestlers "going for it" - Mark came out on top despite giving up some weight/size (i.e., I saw nothing to suggest that Mark lacks the power or technique to win this type of match).

A few observations about Valencia.
1. I thought he'd be bigger . Haha... Holy cow he looked like a 197lb'er.
2. Seemed like he was just trying to stay out of scrambles with Mark. That didn't work out for him.
3. I didn't want to like him... But after watching a couple interviews with him, I can't help it. He seems like a really good kid.

Shields + Valencias will probably move up. No easy route to a national championship for Bo. Moore at 197, too. Let's do it now, Bo!
