Harbaugh - Lack of boundaries and immaturiy

No, clearly only you are "qualified" to deem a middle-aged college football coach asking an 18 year old kid if he can show up at his parent's home at midnight and then sleepover in his bedroom to be a "mature" act me_sh!t_again Man. Thank God for the arrogant, errrrr.....I mean brilliant me_sh!t_again Men, errrr....I mean Michigan Men to declare who is and isn't "mature". What would the world ever do without the douche-bag me_$hit_again men?

It was not too many years ago the the BIG coaches did not contact verbals of other BIG schools. As long as they were a verbal all were left alone within the league. This time honored agreement helped reduce/eliminate out of limits behavior like this. I think it was Urban's arrival that destroyed the agreement. Now you have open season on each recruit.

Fortunately he isn't using the Jerry Sandusky method of showering with 12 year old boys. That is really some crass behavior...and illegal.

PSU admins and fb coaches had no control over JS' access to kids. His charity and CYS did. PA CYS gave their good housekeeping stamp of approval to JS' method of showering after the first incident in 1998. They didn't even so much as restrict his 1:1 acess to kids! PSU reported both shower incidents (98 and 2001) OUTSIDE of PSU so take your beef up with the state of PA/CYS and Jack Raykovitz, the former director of the charity.

My initial comments were not intended to set up a "defend Harbaugh/attack PSU" discussion. I had actually hoped that a few Michigan fans would be equally distressed by this type of excessive behavior. By the way, being a hard-working, dedicated coach does not necessarily imply psychosexual or social maturity. There are many individuals who are/were extremely disciplined and hardworking, but not necessarily mature along various lines of development. In fact, one has been mentioned on this board - not Harbaugh in this instance. The point is that there should be limits on all behaviors, especially when formally representing a great university like Michigan or PSU.

I have followed the "antics" of Jim Harbaugh in relation to the recruitment of Quinn Jordin. His behavior, simply put, is outrageous and should be condemned. It takes recruiting to a place that it should not be, where a family and young man are intruded upon and pressured beyong the already excessive pressure that is part of recruiting HS talent. The vaunted NCAA should step in and stop this dog and pony show. Harbaugh's actions are classless, tasteless, immature, and violates the healthy boundaries that should be respected and protected. How can a young man make any sort of considered choice when he has a coach saturating him with time, praise and overly close behaviors. As far as I concerned, I would pull the offer to Quinn so that he can comfortably go to Michigan. By doing this, I believe that we might stand above the crowd and the nonsense that is occurring with Mr. Harbaugh. And by the way, as a parent, I would never permit my child to experience this situation. What the heck is going on with them? Are they basking in the momentary spectacle of this circus? Yes, I know, recruiting can be "hardball," but this is over the top and should be condemned. Could you imagine for a moment, JoePa or Saban doing a "sleepover." Where the hell are the boundaries that are essential to healthy development. We have seen at PSU what can happen when boundaries are disregarded.
All for a kicker. Not the #1 QB in the country. A...kicker...

Wasn't it actually DickRod at Michigan who started trying to flip recruits committed to other Big Ten schools such as Purdue and Indiana?

You know why Harbaugh is doing this? Because Nordin LOVES it. Let me know when Harbaugh sleeps over at Rashaun Gary's house - then we'll send him to the looney bin. This is because Nordin loves the attention - not because Harbaugh is a wacko (he's a wacko for other reasons though).

Big Ten teams had been flipping kids (from other B10 schools) for over a decade before Rich Rod showed up...though it hadn't been close as to frequently as it is now...Joe Tiller did call Rich Rod out when he flipped a kid on signing day (also flipped a kid from PSU btw) and claimed their used to be a gentleman's agreement...which basically every other B10 coach (including Tressel) said "ok, whatever" as they were doing it themselves.

All except for the FACT that all of the ideas were Harbaugh's. Little absurd to hold a high school kid responsible for Harbaugh's / Michigan's crass, unprofessional and embarrassing ideas and behavior, no?

Not just the recruits, what about the fact that these kids are part of a "family" often with many other children in the household. Harbaugh shows up at a family's home at 12:00 am in the middle of the night on a weekday no less while school is in session? Absurd and this absurdly crass behavior demonstrates a true misplacement of "priorities" and "values" by both Harbaugh and his employer that is condoning this crass behavior.
lol. the family knew he was coming and was fine with it. he didnt just knock on the door and wake everybody up.yes high school kids dont stay up till midnight

I do not quite understand why parents would permit this type of excessive behavior. Having concerns about parental lapses is a fair area of inquiry. But have we considered what precedents are being set by Harbaugh's actions? What is next? What will other schools and staff's do to counter and not lose recruits? Actually, I am surprised that the U of M administration and/or board has not taken a stand on this issue. Maybe it is "win" at all costs. I wonder if any Navy or Army recruiters are making sleepover visits.

He's another Sandusky waiting to happen. Michigan should be closely monitoring this cat.

Harbaugh from San Fran area. Yet to see any compelling evidence he is not the Zodiac Killer.

Well, it takes two to tango - Nordin doesn't seem to mind the attention. He did after all announce his commitment to Penn State via private jet and video.

Welp, never-mind then. See ya on NLOI Day....

Bradley stayed overnight at Lavar's house when he was recruiting him. That is a fact straight from Lavar's mouth.

When would he have done this? Arrington committed the summer before his senior year in HS and never took any visits to any other school. He never wavered either. Ron Graham on the other hand...

LOL @ Penn state of all programs calling harbaugh creepy. Also, you discussing boundaries but your coach just committed a recruiting violation with levert hill smh

Let me guess, you are over 60.

Harbaugh is a media darling that loves everything about him and will never question him. Kaepernick has the worst throwing motion in NFL history and the miracle worker didn't help it a lick.
