Has anybody ever gotten Comcast to do this?

I am locked in to one of their double play deals. I tried yesterday to see if they would take the Starz channels that I never watch off of me and substitute it with their sports and entertainment package. The S&E package actually costs less per month than the Starz but they said they would not do it. I told them that it actually would cost less for the S&E package and I was not looking to recoup the two or three bucks difference but they did not budge. Has anybody gotten them to do this kind of move before?

You can appeal to customer retention and failing that threaten to not pay.
But why should they do it other than to appease a customer? Since the marginal costs to them are the same, they are making the same amount of $ off you, no matter what you have subscribed to. When your trial runs out, you will still be in the higher priced option and you may either forget or no longer want to make the change to the cheaper option.

To be candid, Comcast makes up IT's own rules from day to day. This is AMERICA !!! the home of government support for monopolies. (I meant the "free" market, just in case big brother is watching).
Yes, you an beg customer retention. Or you could go to another cabe or TV option, really ??? Who would that be ??
