If the season ended today and we actually had an 8 team playoff, seeded 1 through 8, just look at the teams that would be playing and the matchups we would have. It would be the best weekend of college football EVER.
My proposal is take 8 teams and seed them 1 through 8. Play the first round the weekend after the conference championship games at the home stadiums of the teams seeded 1 through 4.
Then play the semifinals on New Year's Day EVERY YEAR, like we'll have this year. Then of course the final would be the 2nd following Monday.
Everyone would make a fortune. I'm not one that thinks the extra game is tough on the kids, especially at that time of year when classes are usually either suspended for holiday or semester breaks.
