I just noticed this report on my default home page (my.xfinity .com), and thought I would post it here because I found it both amusing and intriguing. Here is the link to the report.

I have not yet seen the TV ad in question, but a short paragraph from the linked report would seem to sum up the cause of the brouhaha pretty concisely.
"Social media is calling out the company over their Heineken Light TV commercial in which a bartender spots a Caucasian woman in the crowd and slides the low-calorie drink to her, passing three African American bar-goers on its way. "Sometimes, lighter is better," the ad then says."
Some dude named "Chance the Rapper" has called Heineken out on social media about this ad, and others are apparently chiming in, either to condemn or defend Heineken.
My personal reaction is "How can Heineken and (in particular) the advertising company that crafted this TV commercial be so dumb?" I get that they are advertising low calorie beer. But having a bartender slide a beer down a bartop to a white gal, and past three African American bar-goers, while the narrator says "Sometimes, lighter is better," strikes me as stunningly (and amusingly) tone deaf.
Your take?
