Herbie on fire!

Shocking another idiot responded back saying he was biased...where have I heard that before...sigh

Completely disagree
Sorry, even you can't change human nature. As long as networks hire former athletes or college graduates, they're going to have a bias. Or even if they grew up following a certain team. Then they get to know certain players and coaches and they have a bias toward them as well. It's absolutely unavoidable. That doesn't mean they can't do their job in a professional manner, but they still have biases.

Again--we disagree. Evaluations should be and can be made without any bias. That's what Herbie does. That's what I do. Which is why the fan base that we're most connected with is going to attack us the most because they want us to see things through their eyes.

Kirk is the least biased person in the industry--has been for years. Blackledge isn't far behind. You can love a program or a coach and remain unbiased. By definition bias causes you to be unfair in an evaluation. Herbie isn't.

Tweeting for a certain conference to pour it on is hardly unbiased. You're right, he's about as unbiased as you are.

Sigh...let me know when Trace wins the Heisman next year and Miles makes us forget Barkley ever existed. And I'm sure the two players that replace them will be even better.

You mean the announcer that was part of a recruiting violation? Nah, no bias there.

They brought a kid on stage. And that helped us. It isn't that he was telling him to go to Ohio State. Read the violation. If anything we should be thanking Herbie for that

Evaluations can be made with bias. Perceptions can be 'colored'. It's human nature. Herbie is not immune to it. We've witnessed it too many times when he slips. For example, when the selections for the Cotton Bowl were announced he 'creamed his jeans' saying, "Oh the uniforms, look at the uniforms!" And so the beat goes on. Bottom line, you might believe you are a unbiased arbiter but you don't bat 1,000. Nobody does.

You just get dumber every day.

Right...you never said anything about our offense being better next year without Barkley (Gesicki & Hamilton) or attacked me for saying Trace isn't the Heisman favorite. Look at you attacking again because you can't argue what was stated. Always attacking when someone has a different opinion. It's sad..so sad.

When it's a choice between OSU and any other school his bias comes out - pretty easy to spot when he tries to downplay the other school. He should learn from Blackledge who is much better than anyone on that game day clown show.

First of all, I said the offense can still be just as good without Barkley because teams won't be focusing on stopping him and that will loosen up our running game. I never said Sanders would make us forget Barkley like you said I did. Secondly, I never said Trace would be the Heisman favorite. I said he would be a Heisman candidate and will certainly be in the discussion. I've also said many times, and if you would ever actually read what someone posts instead of firing back gibberish, that Barkley would not win the Heisman (I said this from the start of the season) because he plays for Penn State and he would get screwed just like many others have. So Trace will not win the Heisman even if he deserves it because he plays for Penn State.

Any other ignorant comments you would like to post? I'm sure you have us going 7-5 next year because you're just so unbiased.

This group in general takes every comment as a personal insult. KH,IMO has been fair and even opined that he hopes his sons carry themselves like the PSU players he's met over the years. I swear some here live to find evidence of anti PSU bias. Get a life.

10-2 next year because of the schedule. Another horribly weak non-conference schedule and all but one tough conference game is at home. Could win 11. Could stumble and only win 8 or 9.

Go back and re-read the thread about McSorley being the Heisman favorite and asked yourself when you started to attack--it's obvious.

Defenses will still take away the run game--that's proven to be the only way to slow down the scheme. The difference is Miles doesn't have Saquon's ability to go the distance every time he touches it.

Herbie believed Ohio State was more deserving than Penn State last year and he was 100% right--that's why so many here hate him. If this board would but their bias aside and see that we could have real conversations instead of just hyping Penn State

January 1 and we have a nomination for the dumbest post of the year already.

Good job, 78 - way to get ahead of the curve.

I'm not the one pretending Trace is a mortal lock for the Heisman and, if he doesn't win, it's because of anti-Penn State bias or that our offense will be better without Saquon.

That's an eye opener for New Year's Day for sure.

Did Herbie really say "Get the F out of here" in a tweet?

Herbie comes across as thoughtful in his profession because the bar is laying on the ground.

For the life of me, I don't understand why people sit on every word this guy says. Google EF Hutton if it's before your time. Do people care what Skip Bayless, Stephen A, etc say? I understand the platform that Herbie has but the scrutiny given to his comments is borderline unhealthy.

Right behind Herbie is the focus on who announces PSU games. I rarely watch games in isolation so I am always conversing with who I am watching the games with. I can truthfully say that the announcing is more background noise and I seldom sit up and internally debate what an announcer just said.

I spent the large part of my adult life listening to Harry and Whitey and listened because I ENJOYED their back and forth. I listened because I ENJOYED their banter. I certainly wouldn't listen if I didn't enjoy people like Beth, Millen, and whoever else gets endlessly debated on here.

Herbie just isn't important enough to me for it to hit my radar.

The king of backhanded compliments strikes again. 10-2 because of a weak schedule. Sorry dude, there is no weak schedule in the Big East and throw in Wiscy. That's not unbiased, that's stupidity.

And defenses were not successful against us, so why would they stick with the same plan? The only team that didn't focus on Barkley was Iowa and they almost beat us. Teams will not sell out to focus on Sanders like they did Barkley.

And why would we hype Penn State on a Penn State message board? How silly of us.

And the dumb get dumber. Do you even read what others post or just operate in your own fantasy world? Here, let me spell it out for you....TRACE WILL NOT BE THE HEISMAN FAVORITE NEXT YEAR! Does that get it through your head?

The non-conference schedule is weak. Our tough conference games (other than one) are at home. Is that untrue? The conference schedule isn't weak--it's just favorable. The 2019 is the opposite.

We'll see what defenses do next year

You can hype whomever you want--just don't get pissed when others refuse to hype them or make them into something they aren't

Why won't he win it? Because he's not good enough or because of the anti-Penn State bias?
