Herbstreit ALREADY banging the drum for Louisville over PSU.

Why do people talk about Alabama like they are unbeatable? Ole Miss had them beat and blew it. A mediocre, unranked Ole Miss team. Alabama has a freshman QB, and a defense that while very good, has been gashed by a few teams this year. They are far from unbeatable.

From what I seen from some teams ranked right belo me them. They look unbeatable. If they play their A game nobody beats them.

Because a garbage BCS system and biased ratings put them as some untouchable team. They are great no doubt. But if you can open up their D, they are more then beatable. Look at the teams that kept it close or made it interesting.

Old Miss. Over 400 yards passing and 3 TDs. Arkansas over 300 yards and a few TDs. A&M made it a game by passing the ball. Of course they dropped a hand off and self destructed. LSU has no passing game. So Bama stuffed the box and shut down their running game. LSU did keep it close because of their D. And I'd argue all 4 big ten teams have just as good of a D.

If a team can go down field and open them up, keep them honest and play good D. They've very beatable. And that's something PSU excels in. Better so then Louisville imo. They have to set the pass game up with the run. We do not.

At this point, unless U of L loses, I would put them in before us even if we were to win the Big 10 Championship game. I have season tickets to U of L and it is more than just Jackson. They have a solid O-Line, a solid RB and a very good group of receivers on offense. On defense, they are quick and as a whole a very solid unit.

I think it is complete crap the SCUM can lose to unranked team and not even budge in the CFP rankings. Clemson lost at home to an average at best Pitt team and barely moves. Then you have Washington who lost to the #20 team in the country and got knocked out of the play off picture. This whole CFP poll crap is no better than the tradition polls or the BCS crap we had prior.

Thankfully, OSU or SCUM will lose at least one more game and drop out of the picture. I do think U of L is one of the four best teams in the country this year. I think they are the only team that could give Alabama a run for their money this year.

I love our team, but even if we win out, I do not think we are one of the four best teams in the country. I hope I am proven wrong. We Are!!!

Louisville will be out of the final 4 on Dec 4 - "mark it down". Louisville's only chance of making it into the final 4 is if Clemson loses in the ACC championship game. Otherwise, their resume won't come close to matching any of the other finishers.

Louisville could conceivably finish the year with an 0-1 record against teams in the top 25. The loss is to Clemson and where is the quality win? They may be 1-1 against the top 25 if FSU can hold on and not get beat by Florida in their last game. FSU already has 3 losses and could finish with 4 losses.

SEC champion (AL) - LOCK FOR PLAYOFF
ACC champion - (Clemson) - LOCK FOR PLAYOFF
Big Ten Champion - Wisconsin, PSU, OSU, or Michigan - any of these will be a LOCK FOR PLAYOFF over Louisville

That leaves one more opening.

The Big 12 and/or Pac 12 champion will finish with a better resume that Louisville. They won't supplant the PAC 10 or Big 12 champion when SOS/quality wins are being compared on 12/4/16.

Louisville will likely get in only if Clemson loses and even that isn't guaranteed because the committee could choose a second team from the Big 10 and/or Big 12/Pac 12.

Regardless of anything positive or negative he may yammer about wrt Penn State:

Herbie is a Carnival Barker.

A "Matt Millen".....with a better smile and a nicer suit.

His days as an "analyst"....or as someone with ANYTHING meaningful to say.....ended years ago, when he decided is was easier and more fun (and probably more lucrative) to become his own caricature.

He is "PEOPLE" magazine.....not the "Wall Street Journal"

Of the three......if I wanted "insightful" College Football commentary.....I might be best off to go with the guy in the middle :)

Grow up.
Herbie is being paid to state his opinion. I don't agree with him, but his position is not outlandish.
If you're gonna bitch every time someone disagrees, you're gonna spend your whole life bitching.

He has become rather adept at this on this board... it is an impressive stich.

What you say NOW, Herbie lovers? Is he still "fair and impartial"?

And he bases it on ONE PLAYER, Jackson.

Who is that Barkley fellow? I hear he is pretty good also, but I suppose he isn't Jackson?
Where did you hear this 21?

I always liked Herbie and still do. He went to OSU so he is biased towards them. Oh no! At least he's not like Millen who feels like he has to be biased towards every team PSU plays when he calls games. If he hadn't hit the owner of the Patriots with his helmet when he played for the Raiders I would think the guy was a complete A-hole.

It'll be interesting to see if there's any Louisville tie-in to Wake Forest's game plan getting stolen
