Herbstreit muted...

You think Herbie is bad. If you had SEC network, you can listen to Paul Finnebaum in his war room commenting. Priceless

Come on guys ... he's giving a long winded explanation of Georgia's offense" going fast" so Alabama's D cant't substitute and the Play is slowed because Georgia is substituting. I guess regardless of what is happening on the field he's going to say what he wants even if it's not relevant.
There are plenty of other odd things he sees too.
Herby gets lots of airtime with all his shows, specials, interviews and games he calls. ESPN needs a new darling. I do give him tons of credit for helping Corso out and supporting him the past few years.

The planet you’re occupying rotates on a very different orbit.

Herbie was very anti PSU until his O$U Boyz got humiliated by Clemson. Don’t try to rewrite history.

Penn State getting in had nothing to do with Ohio State. He was right in saying Ohio State should have been in. The Clemson game has nothing to do with the selection...it was after the fact. It should have been Alabama-Clemson-Ohio State-Penn State.

Was he right to say PSU fans were flocking to the exits in the 3rd quarter to diminish PSUs win?

Watching these guys cover Barkley this year I cannot stand the amount of time they spend talking about going "out of bounds" on those home run plays. I mean the guy just went 70 yards in one play and all they want to talk about was whether or not his heal was out at the 5? Really?? They just went 70 yards on Bama over the top and you want to obsess about a sideline call. They did it 2 or 3 times in the Iowa game with Barkley.

LOL--he said all along he thought we should have been the 4 seed

"He said all along" we won on a fluke play even though we dominated them 17-0 in the second half after their safety. It wasn't a fluke play because Meyer tried to rush his team on the field instead of calling a time out.

Because of Herbie, the third best team represented the Conference in the Playoffs. Michigan got screwed in Columbus.

Screw Herbie.

And yet....ESPN's best college football analyst( and it's not close) was seen on the field prior to the game shaking Saban's hand. I am guessing Blackledge was regulated to doing the game on radio....

PSUQBKeeper and olelion

I also watched the ESPN show with the six coaches and really enjoyed their remarks and discussions. Cutliffe (Duke), Gundy (Oklahoma State) and Fitzgerald (Northwestern) gave really good insight.

They pointed out things that a seasoned football viewer misses - really talked about a Bama gunner being double teamed on a punt and just "quitting" and replayed to show the opposite side gunner was also double teamed and still got down the field. Fitz simply used the word "effort".

The main problem was that they would show a play and rerun it, and rerun it, and rerun it ... couldn't maintain focus on the actual game but focused on the individual play. When somebody used a telestrater with the reruns, it was very effective.

After a while, I couldn't take the show anymore and flipped to the regular broadcast. When I fell asleep, Georgia was ahead 20 - 10. I woke up and they were in overtime and I vaguely heard the TD pass play call.

Tough getting older.

He was on radio. I heard him on Sirius, and as always, he was a pleasure to listen to.

I strongly disagree. Herbstreit is fun, fair, thorough, informed. But I know many will never give him that, so it's not worth arguing really.

I don't understand the disdain for Herbie either. I think he's the best at what he does. He and Fowler paired together makes the game watching experience very enjoyable. Aside from this, he always seems to have great things to say about PSU players, so I can't really figure it out.

I was a Herbstreit fan, but that has waned. A little too smarmy and “aw shucks” for me any more. Fowler is not a great play by play guy in my opinion. I like him doing tennis. He’s not great at football.

Guess I've reached my limit of him this year ... tonight he's annoying the heck out of me so he's officially "muted"!
The 5-10 minutes I watched on the app loaded with ESPN Deportes announcers. It did not hamper my ability to follow the action, and may have even been more enjoyable.

So, if he is so good, why did he have to comment every twenty seconds of so that "Fromm is a true freshman"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If he was good, he might have gotten everyone to know this after, say.........the first thirty times he mentioned it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps...........perhaps.............perhaps.................he is just a tool!!!! He had to be turned off ........ because I would have damaged our big screen had I heard him state the obvious just one more time!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an incredible football game and hard to find fault with. Except for that horrible half-time show!
