I said in another thread, we have belichick at UNC and Patricia at OSU. It's good no to be interesting to watch the performance.

Not many guys do well at both levels. I can't see Bill B thriving in college, but we'll see. I don't see Matt P being a recruiter, but who knows. Maybe he doesn't have to be.
Bill O has done reasonably well, but I think he is a pro guy and hates college. We'll see how long he stays at BC. I think he will jump at an NFL coordinator or HC job as soon as the oppty presents itself.

Agree, Patricia wasn't at OSU last year - never said he was. But he was part of some dynamite Super Bowl teams.

I pull for all B1G teams in the Playoffs. Pulled hard for Michigan in 2023 (even with a-hole Harbaugh), again for OSU recently and if PSU makes a run in 2025, I'll pull hard for you guys. Rubbing the SEC's face in crap is worth it.

And like I said earlier, Day had a long list of DCs to pull from (and $$ backing) and he was impressed with Patricia unlike some of the self-proclaimed football experts on this board. Many asst coaches had to be salivating to coach that Buckeye defensive unit next year. Maybe, just maybe, NC HC Day knows just a little more than we do. Gotta believe Day knew all about Patricia from his (Day's) NFL time as a QB coach

And I also have the feeling that Patricia won't be in Columbus more than a year or two. Gotta believe he feels OSU is a stepping stone back to bigger things

I don't go to other team's boards but I do read some general college football forums and the vast majority of OSU posters also seem disappointed at best with this hire. The UM fans were happy with it. Time will tell but many expected better from the Bucks with this hire.

Haven't heard anything about him leaving. If it was me, I would have a co-defensive line coach so there would be a seamless transition from LJ to a younger coach.

Day seems to be a very smart schemer and planner. (According to Joel Klatt Day was the only coach he interviewed who moderated the snaps of his starters -- anticipating players would wear out during the longer season) Don't know whether this will work out, but he hired Jeff Hafley from a losing San Fran 49er team and Hafley was very good. Even one of the DBs mentioned originally he didn't understand hire but in fact he felt he really learned a lot. Also, hired Chip Kelly (who has very bad reviews from Michael Vick and Leshaun McCoy on Youtube.) and Kelly was a miracle worker this past year. His one terrible hire was Kerry Combs who was a legend as DB coach but couldn't coach the whole defense. My supposition is that Patricia will be a better hire than Hartline who was not given the duty of play calling two years when first given the title of offensive coordinator.

Don't really care what OSU fans think -- many of them were trying to get Day fired a couple of months ago.

I agree. I don't see his demeanor playing well in the college game. I also can't see him being a recruiter, at all.
