Confirmed by Casey today at the PSWC pre-match social. I was hoping it was a rumor tooNot a rumor. 1 poster here claims to have witnessed the accident. So, it’s either true or a complete fabrication. Or a case of mistaken identity I suppose.

Pretty sure the boos started first.Watching the stream, the fans started booing when the ref raised his hand and then he reacted. The sound and video may not be synched so can't tell 100% which happened first.
Oh my, I think I have a case of the vapors!Clutching your pearls? Lmfao what is that a 1920s saying or what. Does anyone even have pearls today? Lol
I'll grab the castor oil.Oh my, I think I have a case of the vapors!
Stallrocci?Jaxon Smith has been bonused twice in his career
Last year by AB 13-4 (3 point takedowns also)
And this TF by Carter
Carter always seems to have another gear ... and we see it in March always. I think we saw it today because he clearly took exception to what happened to Kasak (who he views as his little brother) and the subsequent celebration.
I think Carter was none too pleased with his match against Ferrari! This is angry Starocci ... my God
I thought it was cool when Seth and Greg came out for the handshake at the intros that they both were grinning.285 - #2 Greg Kerkvliet VS #12 Seth Nevills
Period 1:
Current PSU versus former PSU. Circling & tying up. Kerk pushes forward a little. Nevills circles back to center. Kerk shoots, but no luck. Kerk shoots again & misses again. Kerk is working an underhook & tries to drop to a leg, but Nevills fights out of it. Back to tying up & circling in the center. Kerk shoots & gets to a leg, but Nevills kicks free, 90-sec left. Nevills hasn't done much so far & is about due for a stall call. Tying up & circling again. Kerk shoots a double, then switches to a single. Nevills is trying to fight him off, but Kerk finishes the TD, 3-0. Kerk has Nevills based out on the edge. Kerk rides out the period. 3-0 Kerk
Period 2:
Kerk takes down. He gets to his feet, turns & gets the escape, 4-0. Circling & tying up again. Kerk reaches for an ankle, but no luck. Kerk immediately hits a blast double for another TD, 7-0. Stoppage for a full nelson by Kerk, point Nevills, 7-1. Nevills gets the escape, 7-2. Tying up & pushing in neutral. More tying up & pushing as the period ends. 7-2 Kerk
Period 3:

Circling, hand fighting & tying up. Nevills reaches for a leg, but no luck. Nevills pushes forward a little & shoots, but no luck. That's how it ends. Nice job by Big Snacks!
Greg Kerkvliet DEC Seth Nevills 8-3
Final Team Score
PSU: 35
MD: 10
Slip: that’s what I thought too …. initially. A hard shot to a batch of stitches hurts like hell as we all well know. The fact that he was down on all fours for 2+ minutes . . That indicates more than ringing stitches. Also, he had a guy under each arm as he gingerly got up. Looks like he got his bell rung. Our coaches pulled the plug pretty quickly unlike a certain coach from north of the PA border. They took Kasak off the mat for a concussion protocol & he never returned. But, the way Kasak reacted, it looked to me like he took a hard shot to his injured forehead. Hopefully, he snaps back quickly.
Wow, that sucks! I didn't see him being helped off the mat. The B1G+ feed zoomed way out when he was down on the mat, so it was difficult to see what was going on. I didn't realize it was that serious. I was hoping he just blew out his stitches. Hopefully, he recovers quickly. Tyler's become one of my favorite wrestlers!Slip: that’s what I thought too …. initially. A hard shot to a batch of stitches hurts like hell as we all well know. No. The booing started as the ref raised his hand. It was pretty much simotaineis.Except Miller was holding up index #1 finger while arm raised which I think started the booing
Not to mention, didn't Arnold lose to Nebraska this weekend?Since Carter didn’t wrestle Arnold, I wonder if he was making a statement with Smith.
Yes. Cupcakes in season, apparentlyNot to mention, didn't Arnold lose to Nebraska this weekend?
I thought Carter was going to plant Smith right into Coach Clemsen's lap after his practice throw into the front row of the north stands. I can guarantee you that Carter didn't forget the comments from last year.I am wondering if CCC took that "discussion" after the Maryland meeting last year to heart... no one went for the pin. (except of SVN who held his opponent in his back for what seemed like months)

I guess we should respect your expert assessment, since Iowa fans are much more intimately familiar with losses than we are.It may not be fair, but it is a loss.

one maybe 2 concern 3 definite intentional! From the stands, it sure looked liked the Terp was targeting Kasak's head with the two eye pokes. When Kasak went down for good, it looked like part of the planned assault. We had no idea what was going on until the hand was raised. That's why there was booing. It would have been helpful for the PA announcer to keep the fans informed.
Yes, I think the noted smile at the intros was an indicator of how the bout was going to go. Classy move by Kerk.Kerk definitely took it easy on Seth in the 3rd. No need to get the major.
And Barr - which felt like years.I am wondering if CCC took that "discussion" after the Maryland meeting last year to heart... no one went for the pin. (except of SVN who held his opponent in his back for what seemed like months)
No need to worry unless Cael says he's downstairs drilling as we speak.Confirmed by Casey today at the PSWC pre-match social. I was hoping it was a rumor too
So you are saying fans need to be informed by the announcers in order to not act like asswipesFrom the stands, it sure looked liked the Terp was targeting Kasak's head with the two eye pokes. I feel like Kasak in his attacks does get his head in there. I wouldn't say leading but darn close. I don't want him to be less aggressive, but these hits aren't dirty wrestling by the opponent. There was some face stuff going on but really not related to the hit.
Don’t take it so hard. You threw the shade and got what you deserved.
Mesenbrink exposes his head 10x per match. A knee to the head is 90% bad luck, 10% avoidable with a change in techniqueI feel like Kasak in his attacks does get his head in there. They get cauliflower ears because they don't wear the head gear in practice nor in out-of-season competitions.why don't they wear head gear with some kind of protection or cover over the forehead?they cover the ears yet they all get cauliflower ear!
Even the best head gear doesn't always address the problem. Somebody with a history of concussions is susceptible to reoccurring symptoms from something as simple as a good hard tie-up or headsnap.
not real smart but I am guessing that gear rubbing on ears isn't helping!back in the day it was a choice I never wore it and never got the cauli ear! They get cauliflower ears because they don't wear the head gear in practice nor in out-of-season competitions.
However, they neglected to tell us who led the Maryland team in escapes. The two kids on Sunday were better than anything I heard last year.
I guess I’m out of the loop. Was is truly a concussion worry or did the cut open up again? Secondly, does he have a history of concussions?Even the best head gear doesn't always address the problem.
