He's Baaaaaack . . . Cocco for PSU BOT

I could find no mention of Upward State:

My response to CoccoPuff's announcement (on his FB page) and his claims of independence:

"Independent? Really? Just like Matt Schuyler and David Han - - - two other UpWard State toadies who were "appointed" to the BOT by the OG Scoundrels?"

FWIW - CoccoPuff is using the "Penn State Grass Roots Network" - - - an offshoot of the PSU Alumni Association - - - to campaign. A direct violation of the supposed neutrality of the PSU AA (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
Don't be shocked if he gets a seat on the BOT.

I was at a small gathering in Philly on New Year's day and another invited person brought him as a guest. I was mildly hoping the BOT came up as a discussion topic (everyone else in the room was praying it didn't), alas it did not come up, nor did I say two words to the man while I was there.

Knowing the man personally, while we didn't speak on New Years Day we have in the past and know who each other are from each of our different leadership positions during undergrad, I have to say your characterization of him is not correct. Look he would almost (I say almost bc I could envision a scenario years down the road where he is the lesser of evils) never get a vote from me, but I believe when he claims independence he thinks he means it. Now, does that mean they aren't still trying to use him as a pawn, of course not. Do him and I agree on many things regarding the direction of the university, no and I know that for a fact, BUT do I believe he loves Penn State and wants the best version of it in his mind, YES.

I believe he is most likely using those that are trying to use him just as much as they are. That becomes a circular tit for tat that he is using to raise his profile. I don't believe him to be a bad guy or person, just a bad decision maker.

If he is a bad "decision maker" ...... He IS a "bad guy"

What else defines us but the decisions we make and the actions we take?
Is there some "good guy" / "bad guy" DNA that overrides our actions?

Most people DO NOT want to view people they know personally as "bad people"......but let me tell ya' - "bad people" have friends, acquaintances, and families too, just like "good people".

Interesting. Does your "bad decision maker" theory apply equally to University leaders that made bad decisions such as C/S/S?
