Dude just told me this morning that Al Golden is most likely Temple's first choice. Interesting if true. Who says you can't go home again?

I can see the book now:

"Staying on the Mountaintop is Harder than Getting There: My Journey from North Broad to South Beach, and Back."

First thing I thought, also. They loved him there, and while he had success, he never took them to a Championship. He and Rhule have similar approaches to coaching (from the same tree!) and the overall change may not be quite as dramatic as it could be otherwise. Golden can win there again, and will recruit well again. They have some very good players coming back, and he can build on that. Not a bad idea for either side. Wonder if he will bring along his old DCoord.... who seemed to be a liability for him at times.

Plus, it takes JoeMo out of the equation! Please!

I think Temple knows they are a stepping stone job for quite awhile yet, unless they get lucky with a coach who wants to stay. So it gives Al a chance to rehabilitate his image as a head coach and try to move up to a higher program, without having to do a complete rebuild like the first time around. Temple gets a known quantity as a coach at their program who understands the issues, without having to take a chance on someone.

Sometimes when you go through the ringer like Al did at Miami, you see the value of staying at a place for a long time making good coin. He would probably get close to $2 million to coach at Temple again. Although the expectations are a bit higher, there is no reason that Al could not compete for an AAC title in most years. There is lots of good 2nd tier talent in the area that could be developed.

Also would help if they were to get the stadium built on campus. Will be a tough sell to build it and get past some of the neighborhood opposition. But I think would do wonders for recruiting and student involvement. Plus they want to do it right with about 30K stadium and designed so you can add on if/when needed. Would be a big addition if they were to get that done.

I have become a quasi fan of Temple and I agree with most on here that Temple could be a nice place to coach. If Golden comes back it might be a blessing for Temple where they may get a long term quality coach

I think it would be good for both. Al can recruit AND now tell recruits he is "here to stay". I think that would meant a lot to kids and families. AND if Temple does build an on campus stadium the program can actually have fans in the stands :)
Not sure what the conference rules are concerning stadiums.

Navy has 35K stadium so I am guessing Temple could get one that size

Even if Sandy Baby was the Temple AD.........I don't think she would be stupid enough to pursue a "stadium build" for Temple football

Temple's current long-term lease (which is about to run out - - - IIRC - - - they may have re-negotiated recently) with the Eagles is for about (IIRC) $1,000,000.
I believe the Eagles were looking to bump up the lease to $2,000,000 or so per year.

The full in capitalized value of $2,000,000 per year in expenses.......wouldn't equate to an amount sufficient for Temple to procure the real estate for a damn suitable parking lot......let along a functional, appropriately sized stadium.

(actually, as my friend BlueBand (the "Human Bidet") pointed out.......those might be just the types of financial "genius numbers" that would interest Sandy Baby.
Maybe?
But I'm still gonna' go with: "even the Tsunami wouldn't be THAT dumb")

Every Dumbshit has limiting parameters.

Except for 21 Guns, of course (that has been discussed at depth)...
and, now, apparently.....

I'm hearing Naruzzi (no D) to Temple:D
I'm hearing (the voices in my head) Narduzzi to Temple, bring Canada with him, but hiring Golden's favorite DC to continue his run of defensive disasters. :D
