Well, all 167 people in South Dakota have voted already, so Zain should catch up pretty quickly.
How many times did you vote?EVERY GO IN AND KEEP VOTING FOR ZAIN !!!! I GOT IN AFTER A COUPLE TRIES....
Maybe I should have voted instead of eating my jelly bean! Will vote later...first a quick story from nationals...
At Fan Fest, the WIN Magazine booth had a Hodge Trophy Vote set up, so I already voted once...this past Friday. It consisted of a tub of jelly beans, and "voters" were allowed to take one, and drop it into one of several tubs labeled with wrestler's names. Zain received 2 votes from us. Zain's tub was 5 times or so fuller than the 2nd fullest tub.
He may not take 2nd in the fan vote (PSU hate is strong nowadays), but I don't see Zahid or Gross passing him among the other voters. Too dominant, and the only other previous champ. Gross and Zahid had great years though, and next year's race is going to be intense between Jason, Bo, Zahind, and Spencer.Would really like to see Bo get 2nd place.
If Cenzo wins his 3rd in row in the arguably toughest weight class shouldn’t he at least leapfrog Zahid and Spencer on your next year list?He may not take 2nd in the fan vote (PSU hate is strong nowadays), but I don't see Zahid or Gross passing him among the other voters. No you can't. You can only vote multiple times if you use multiple emails. They changed the system and if you actually voted and not a troll you'd know that. You can vote from multiple devices too...Please VOTE for Zain EVERYONE....

Yeah, my thoughts too. Cenzo can obviously pin guys, but # of pins is the second criterea, and dominance is third. He could certainly turn it on next year, and I would be oh so happy to eat crow. Plus, though not an official critera, we saw 2 years ago the "committee" likes to reward seniors, so I'd think Gross, Bo and Jason have to be the early front runners.Depends on how he's winning. The fact that he'd be a 3 time champion would be huge, but dominance and other factors also come into play and Cenzo's probably less likely to bonus his way through the season than many or most of those other guys. God knows that I hope I'm wrong about that of course....
Anyone know how many people are on the selection committee? Wondering how impactful the fan vote is. Read this on the WIN site:
“The winner of the fan vote will earn two first-place votes among the total ballots from a group of formal voters which includes each former Hodge Trophy winner, national media, representatives of national wrestling organizations and retired former college coaches from different regions.”
Not saying we shouldn’t vote, but 2 total fan votes may be pretty diluted in the end. At least should help Zain that 3 former PSU winners (Cael, DT, and McCoy) are on the committee.

Does Zain get to vote as well from his award last year? If so, I'm betting he votes for Bo.3 votes from Cael and 2 from DT would be nice,
though it doesn’t work that way.
Click on "Other," and write him in. Be sure to say, "Well, if you would change the award criteria, then Nolf should be on the ballot."Why wasn't Nolf on the ballot? He was basically undefeated (and only had one loss in any event, like Gross). He had more pins than Gross and Valencia and the same as Nickal. His bonus (dominance) rate was better than everyone other than Zain. His past credentials are better than Gross and Valencia. And, in terms of quality of competition, he compares favorably with the others, having beaten the #1 seed (which none of the others did), along with Kemmerer and Jordan at NCAAs. In the subjective "heart" category, you have to give him credit for wrestling with an injury. And, if there was a category for creativity, flair and pushing the sport to new heights, he would win that hand's down.
They only let him vote once so he called the number at the bottom and ordered 6 Zain votesYou can vote from multiple devices too...Please VOTE for Zain EVERYONE....

The fan vote has never been a factor in choosing the winner, though I believe it did matter for 2nd place several years ago. Don't hold me to that though.Last year there were 45 votes for the award, which I believe included the 2 fan votes.

So, was just listening to a Takedown Radio (TOM) interview of Seth Gross and was surprised to hear the main host (Scott Casber?) practically declare Gross as the Hodge winner. Made me think I had missed the official announcement. Had to go to WIN to confirm that the announcement isn't until tomorrow. The host kept saying Gross is the "odds-on favorite" to win the Hodge like it's a forgone conclusion. Hard to believe Gross could be favored over Zain.
