Lost 80-76. Didn't watch as it was on Peacock. Rutgers does not have a great record. Behind all game and down 15 at half giving up 48. Not a good effort but did fight back but too little too late.

The stronger teams win on the road in conference. Much improved from last year but need to win on the road in conference to make the B1G and NCAA tournaments.

College basketball Is so predictable. Unless you’re an absolutely elite team, you’re going to lose at least two thirds if not more of the conference road games. It’s just amazing at how differently teams play at home and on the road; they’re like two different teams.

Last week, Maryland beat OSU by almost 40 points at home, then OSU beats Rutgers at home by 14 points, then of course Rutgers beats PSU at home. Typical and predictable.

I'm hoping we can be close to. 500 in conference road games. I don't think that is unrealistic. Something like 4-6 should be achievable. Not a good start to the road schedule though.

stat sheet reads like Baldwin had a terrible game.

At one point, he was 2/11 shooting and had 4 fouls with 16 minutes left.

Rutgers played really good. 2 freshman are really good. They outrebounded us, and if not for a poor night from the free-throw line they probably win by more.

Credit to our team, they somehow clawed their way back in, but Rutgers always answered.

Down by 2 with the ball and a minute to go. Just couldn't convert. Then down by 3 with the ball and 10 seconds left. Had our chances.

Rutgers has 4 losses. Worst loss is Kennesaw State. Played Bama tough losing by 5 and lost to 17th ranked Texas A&M by 4. OSU beat them by 14. They are a pretty good team and will get better as the freshmen develop.

Pennstate fought like crazy to get back in this game. Never quit, though through much of the game they were not hitting their shots. Ace missed a bunch of shots that normally would have been good. This team is going to be tough to beat no matter where they play, IMO.

Typical PSU BB. Riding high after a signature win last week and get beat in their next game because of a very poor first half.

Did the Freshman big man play for PSU last night?

Have you ever played basketball? If so, I'm assuming by your post that you never had an experience where you couldn't hit a shot! The team last night fought back and actually had an opportunity to tie the game late. These were guys that couldn't hit anything in the first half! This is not a team that any opponent will be able to chalk up a victory beforehand!!

That's not a bad road record in the B1G. I know it sounds crazy to say a losing record is decent, but it is on the road in the conference

What's his name?

I'm going to say no, but I don't keep up with basketball regularly.
Miles Goodman. I jut checked the box score on the site and he was not listed. No PT. I guess he is still recovering from whatever injury he had? Has not played this year (true Freshman).

Okay, they had a good effort in the second half tofight back but couldn't buy a bucket in the first half. Again, didn't see the game. My point is they clearly did not play well in the first half and I would say a weak defensive effort to give up 48 and be down 15.

I certainly agree this happens. It's also true that Rutgers had just lost 4 of their last 5 including to Kennesaw State. Those are the types of games PSU has to win if they want to make the tournament.

I watched the game also. Just couldn't make anything in the first half even layups. Second half was better but as stated, Ace was in foul trouble and got caught up in trying to do too much. Hicks started to hit a few shots and that brought them back but ended up too little too late.

Goodman has a shoulder injury. Rhoads said we'd see him soon. My guess is 2nd half against Coppin State in Saturday or to be extra safe against Drexel next Saturday.
