How about Nelson agholor for Antonio brown

Browns numbers may compare to Jerry Rice numbers.but no one is comparing Brown to Jerry Rice

Attitude wise no, production wise.. they are comparable. Don’t get how you can say their numbers may compare, but that no one is comparing them.. you just did that?

I think there is a good chance that Brown will never play a down of football in the NFL again. He is certifiably nuts and will remain nuts wherever he might play. Why would any team want to put up with his nonsense?

Big difference though -- Agholor is a solid NFL receiver in his physical prime. Brown was one of the best in the NFL in his prime but he's on the downslope -- the only question is how steep is the slope. He's lost enough explosiveness I'm not sure if he can get separation against good corners any more .

Are you serious?! AB is one of the top 5 receivers in the league...and top 10 all time! He is just a head case!

Unfortunately I believe that Brown has put the Steelers in a situation where they're not going to get much for him.
I think they'll hold out for something reasonable, a high draft pick and possibly another player.
Short of that, I think the team will stand pat, even if it means he holds out.
If he sits out for a year or two without contact, his body approaching the early 30s may not bounce back.
If he worked as hard on public relations as he did practicing and playing, there'd be a much bigger line for his services.
I think the team has put themselves in a corner with both how Bell reacted to a reasonable offer, and Brown more with his off field actions. I think any message that will be sent will be as much for current and future players as these two.
Neither set the playoffs on fire.

Their cards. He either retires or the Steelers get their 1st round pick. They have him under contract for 3 more years. He can either bite the bullet and return or just sit in his house.

Agholar?! The Eagles would ship him for free for Brown with a mid round pick.

He made his own situation worse by being a complete loon. The Steelers gain nothing by trading him for zero. They are taking the cap hit either way. Why give him away to a prospective contender? Will not happen.

Why not? Brown Numbers before the age of 30 are better then Rice. Brown attitude sucks, but production he could be a top 5 WR all time.

Brown is nowhere near a downslope. He was double teamed a lot this year and still put up good numbers. Guy has 4-5 great years left.

Yeah, as an Eagles fan, I’d be suspicious and ask “what’s the catch? Did Brown just lose a leg or something?”

Does AB have years left on a large contract that a trade partner would assume? NFL teams do not like to trade assets for a big paycheck player.

Actually, by all accounts, he’s one of the hardest working players on the team in both practice and games. No doubt his behavior since the last game has been disruptive, but he’s been a pretty good soldier otherwise.

I would not be surprised if he ended up with the Patriots. Belichick will sit him down and tell him he has only one chance. Any nonsense and he is gone. Belichick seems to be able to handle nut cases (e.g. Owens) Can you imagine if Brown straightened himself out and was playing with Brady? He would be unstoppable.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this all blow over with no trade proposals the Steelers would consider. Eventually mending some fences enough to move on as a Steeler until Ben retires.

If he ends up in NE it won’t be because the Steelers put him there. If he is traded the Steelers won’t be sending him to an AFC contender, anyone in division and probably no one on the 2019 schedule.

The Eagles won a Super Bowl last year without a great WR. If you look at who wins Super Bowls it's rarely a team with a great WR. A team that hasn't won a Super Bowl in awhile may get stars in their eyes over AB but I bet the Eagles wouldn't.

Eagles missed their chance at this draft . They should have pulled a Rickey Williams trade. All of their 2018 picks to move as high as needed to get Barkley. That offense would be unstoppable.

I agree that would be the Steelers' objective. However, if nobody but New England makes an offer then they either let him go to New England or eat his contract with no return.

The only joke is the Steelers GM who publicly states it's ok for his QB to publicly call out other players and talk to them as if they're children. I'd peace out too.

They would never trade him to NE. He is under contract with the Steelers and no way they just release him. Then he plays for the Steelers or he holds out and does not get paid. If he shows up just to get paid and is insubordinate, then you can suspend him without pay. Brown has totally screwed himself over with his antics. He thinks he has leverage, but he really doesn’t. Why would the Steelers trade him for so much less than he is worth, especially to another AFC team? Colbert has said he would only make a deal if it benefits the Steelers. You have to factor in who the deal is with in addition to the return.

His contract is actually team friendly as it stands. The problem is he leaked on IG that he wants a new contract with a significant amount or all guaranteed.

He needs to be sent to Buffalo. They have a great nightlife and room to grow his "brand". ;)

Like someone said above "Brown's actions have put the Steelers in a position where they are not going to be able to get full market value for him"....

This is true. We've seen this over the years in all sports. Whenever a big star starts to bitch and cry about wanting to be traded, and their relationship sours so badly with the current team that a trade is inevitable.... their current team never is able to get full market value.

Add to this that biology says Brown is 31 years old. If this were 3 years ago, and Brown were 28, then you would be taking age concerns off the table. If another team were looking at a 28 year old Brown, then they would be very confident of getting a solid 5 years out of him. They'd be getting 28-32 year old Brown. BUT ..... 31 is a different story. History AND Biology show that 99% of receivers really slow down by their mid 30's. Yes, there are EXCEPTIONS (Jerry Rice, Art Monk, Larry Fitz...) but those are the EXCEPTIONS. The vast majority of players slow down greatly by the time they reach mid 30s.
