His openness to the charity’s board members’ contributions to his campaign didn’t stop there. Corbett also allowed S&A Homes president and CEO Robert Poole, who chaired Second Mile’s board, to hold a small fundraiser for him at Poole’s home in January 2010.

....Furthermore, Harley said, “Nobody was aware, other than the governor and people in the attorney general’s office, of the investigation.”

Contacted after the editorial board meeting, Kevin Harley, a spokesman for Mr. Corbett now and when he was attorney general, denied Mr. Corbett played politics with the investigation and said the contribution figure is "a blatant lie." He pointed out the Second Mile was never under investigation.

The actual figure is about $200,000 from Second Mile board members to Mr. Corbett's campaign for governor, with the $640,000 figure representing the contributions to all of Mr. Corbett's campaigns by Second Mile board members, the Harrisburg Patriot-News has reported.

Poole, however, said he did know about it.

In his email, Pool said that “to the best of my recollection, I first learned in 2008 or 2009 that authorities were investigating Mr. Sandusky.”

An earlier statement from the state confirmed that Sandusky volunteered to tell Second Mile officials about the investigation in November 2008.

Harley said that the investigation at the time of the fundraiser was focused on Sandusky, but not on how he was allegedly using The Second Mile to find his victims.

When The Second Mile’s involvement became apparent, Harley said it was too late for Corbett to return the campaign contributions from those on the charity’s board.

“He wasn’t going to say, ‘Listen, I’m going to take money from other people, but not people from Second Mile.’ That certainly would have raised an alarm that there was an investigation,” he said.

The Pennsylvania State Police are pursuing an investigation based upon a founded Clinton County Children and Youth Services complaint alleging sexual assault by a Centre county adult male upon a juvenile male with whom he became acquainted through his sponsorship of a· charity for disadvantaged youth. It is believed that other minor males have been similarly assaulted through this connection. The investigation concerns allegations of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, and corruption of minors in Clinton and Centre counties.

Still, the intermingling of the investigation into the Sandusky case and Corbett’s gubernatorial bid have raised questions about his handling of the case.

That became apparent in a Quinnipiac University Poll released Friday that showed a split in the approval rating of how he managed this high-profile case, with 38 percent approving and 36 percent disapproving.

Just as they did during the legislative corruption investigation, people are accusing Corbett of dragging his feet on the Sandusky case for political purposes.

Noonan, among others, defends Corbett’s handling of the case.

“I can say that I was intimately involved in every decision that was made in this case, and nothing could be further from the truth. Gov. Corbett gave us everything we needed to do the investigation and was anxious for it to be concluded as quickly as possible, and I know that because I was involved with it and with him the entire time,” Noonan said.

Being from the Northeastern part of the state, I'm not sure people outside realize how much of an affect the fracking business had here. Billions were spent to get three year leases on farm properties that were just about to go out of business or be sold off by their offspring because the land was no longer needed and became a tax burden. My neighbor that has 250 acres hadn't farmed in 30 years got a million bucks by signing a piece of paper. Farmers that had nothing have $100,000 John Deere tractors and brand new pick up trucks. The amount of money invested by the gas companies was insane. The majority of leases expired without so much as shoveling a scoop of dirt. So much money was extended that at least one company went under. BILLIONS of money invested. What company would invest that kind of money without some kind of security? A certain Governor had a study done at the State's most prestigious University to calm everyone's nerves.

If I had to guess, it isn't sock-puppet, servile Corbutt that anybody is afraid of, it's the crime-syndicate GOP Political Junta that created and controls lawyers-turned-politicians like Corbett, Ridge, Corman, etc...as well as PA Law Enforcement via the OAG and much of the PA Judiciary before buffoon Corrupt Corbutt "screwed the pooch" and outed their corruption with his disastrous political miscalculations.

I try to remain open minded about the whole thing knowing that not all information will ever see the light of day, but 2 things have always mystified me as you point out:

1) Why was Raykovitz left unscathed? Was he even questioned by his ethics board? Spanier cross exam: are you a mandatory reporter with extensive training child abuse cases? You were told by PSU that something made them uncomfortable and you told JS to wear swim trunks, did you report or investigate? Have you been investigated or charged with regard to this incident? Reasonable doubt in a normal case, which this isn't.

2) MMQ testified that he heard rhythmic slapping sounds. Since when are 2 or 3 slaps rhythmic versus random? Rhythmic has always seemed a weird characterization to me, which may mean nothing but his whole story has seemed weird. I won't bother with restating the physical unlikelihood of anal sex with the height differentials.

I hope you read my post with the attached link. If not, please read it as I think it is a part of this case that shouldn't be denied.

Being from the Northeastern part of the state, I'm not sure people outside realize how much of an affect the fracking business had here. Billions were spent to get three year leases on farm properties that were just about to go out of business or be sold off by their offspring because the land was no longer needed and became a tax burden. My neighbor that has 250 acres hadn't farmed in 30 years got a million bucks by signing a piece of paper. Farmers that had nothing have $100,000 John Deere tractors and brand new pick up trucks. The amount of money invested by the gas companies was insane. The majority of leases expired without so much as shoveling a scoop of dirt. So much money was extended that at least one company went under. BILLIONS of money invested. What company would invest that kind of money without some kind of security? A certain Governor had a study done at the State's most prestigious University to calm everyone's nerves.

It makes my skin crawl to know that Governor Corporate pimped out MY University so that GE, ExxonMobil, Shell, and 297 other companies could profit billions.

Which leads me to this. Do you think this might have something to do with the ax to grind that Corbett had with Spanier? Possibly Spanier didn't want anything to do with this being that there was staff and faculty objecting to it? Billions to be made and millions to be kicked back. Pa politics.

In the three years since that report was written.....nothing has happened except to further bury the malfeasance.


No one can say with 100% certainty - - - - - but I think it is abundantly safe to say that these issues (the BIG, BIG $$$$$ issues, like the "Fracking" and the PSU Honey-Pot) are much, much, more responsible and DETERMINANT vav our ongoing situation........ than are the "personal" issues - - - the stuff like "Surma hates Joe", "Corbett hates Spanier", etc.

While I believe many of those issues are "real" (and worthy of opposing/exposing) .... you just don't see the devastation we have seen (not even a small fraction of it) as the result of "personal animosities". I wouldn't think.

I think the folks laying the covers over the significant issues are THRILLED to have seen so much attention paid to the "Surma / Corbett / JVP / Spanier / CSS / Statue" types of issues (even though many of those issues ARE significant in and of themselves - and may have, if not for the presence of so many soul-less and incompetent assholes - LED TO more meaningful discovery)....
While the DETERMINANT stuff - the stuff that brought much of the other crap to the surface - is completely, or nearly completely, ignored.
Largely, one might reasonably assume, because those DETERMINANT issues require more than a surface-deep emotional "analysis".

I've been making the rhythmic point for 5 plus years. It is impossible for two sounds to establish a "rhythm" and it is damn hard for 3 sounds to establish a rhythm.
