How games does a team have to be on BTN?

Two - one of which needs to be a conference game.

Rutgers @ PSU on BTN at 3:30 - that seems like a pretty safe bet at this point.

How many times does the Rutgers game get downgraded to BTN ? But at least they carry the NY/NJ market for the B1G

Yeah - that does raise an interesting question. Is there a maximum number of games that get shown on BTN?

Right now Rutgers is 8 for 9 (!!) in terms of games on BTN. Their game against Iowa back in early September was on FS1. Must watch TV that game was.

i think there was a thread this week on the rutgers board bitching that they are all on the btn overflow channel now.

edit: yup, there was. https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/threads/ru-relegated-to-overflow-btn.177703/

Yes...they won't put it up against Mich-OSU.

It's happened a few times, but it's rare and hasn't happened in almost 10 years... The years not listed below were season Penn St kicked off at 330 or 4, with exception of 2006, when they moved UM OSU to 3:30 because they were ranked #1 & #2.

1993 Both at noon
1997 UM/OSU noon - PSU MSU 1:00
1998 UM/OSU noon - PSU MSU 1:00
2000 Both at noon
2003 Both at noon
2004 PSU MSU noon - UM/OSU 1:00
2005 UM/OSU 1:00 - PSU MSU 12:00
2010 Both at noon

Can't see 2019 being a year that warrants a change to the coveted noon slot for "the game" .... but who knows, regardless of who wins the PSU OSU game, the East will still be unsettled heading into that final weekend if we're both undefeated when we play.

If we lose to OSU, the East will be settled heading into the final weekend ... they will hold the tie breaker over us regardless of the outcome of their game vs Michigan (assuming we are both undefeated heading into our game vs OSU)

The East will be settled if osu/Psu are both 10-0 when they play. The Winner can lose the final weekend and will still go to Indy regardless of what the loser does courtesy of the head to head. Unless a loss to Rutgers is worth double this year.

Those 1997 and 1998 games against MSU were in different weeks. We did play on the same day as U-M/OSU in those years, but our kicks were at 3:30 and 3:00 respectively (both against Wisconsin).

1993: we played Northwestern at 2 PM, U-M/OSU was at Noon.

2005: we played MSU at 4 PM, U-M/OSU was at 1 PM.

2000, 2003, 2004 and 2010, you do have those years right.

In 2000, 2003 and 2004, we had losing records. It didn't matter. This year it matters could have a PSU Team in the Top Ten jockeying for a lot by then, no matter who the opponent is.
