How much, if any, benefit does penn State get from playing Friday night?

Certainly this isn’t like having an off week, and Penn State won’t be able add an extra practice day, but they could get another half day of rest, but then again our team had to fly back from Illinois while tOSU was at home. Our coaches would be able to use the extra time, I guess...

Thoughts?

I think they gain a little extra game preparation time. They got to sleep in on Saturday while OSU played a game on Saturday and OSU travels Friday. I think the late start on Saturday is also another advantage because the road team has to sit and wait all day in a unfamiliar environment.

I expect very little. They got back early Saturday and had the rest of the day off. They got virtually no sleep Friday night. Franklin spent Saturday with his family.

OSU didn’t really play a game...they played Tulane.
