Hype storm of 2019 is a dud. Way to scare everyone weather channel.

Northern Lebanon county. Original forecast was for about 8" of snow followed by 1/4-1/2" of freezing rain followed by 50 mph winds. I live back a 1/2 mile lane, so you have to be prepared. Put the snowblower on the tractor, brought in the generator, got gas for the heaters, stacked in plenty of firewood. I figured we'd be iced in and the electricity would be out.

Turns out that we had about 1-2" of snow followed by rain. Turned into about 1/2" of slush, which I pushed of the driveway. I'll still get iced in today, as the water won't drain off the lane before it freezes. But, doubtful the electricity will be out.

what weathercast did you watch that had that much predicted. most of our area to the west around harrisburg was in 3-6 on the locals and further east 1-3 .... lanco county was coating 1-3

maybe too many people are watching national stuff, and also interpreting "this may happen, but i think this is way more likely " as fact. i made my plans wednesday and never once changed them based on the forecasts that i saw.

they were however off on the time by over 2 hrs

and our gov what a idiot

do you enjoy it?
this is why I moved out of the lake affect region
I don't enjoy it and that's why I'm plan on getting out of the snow belt area in the next 2 years. We got 12-14 overnight and are looking to get another 8 inches of lake generated snow tonight. Should be a fun commute tomorrow!

Earlier in the week the snow totals were for 4-8" and lots of freezing rain. That changed on Friday to C-3". WGAL and WHP are the usual culprits. WHP tends to have greater snow depths.

Looks like 4 inches around here, unusual, we often get hammered. My advice get rid of it off walks and driveways, it's going to be a block of ice by nightfall, it won't melt.

This was and still is a dangerous storm. Because the storm track went a little further to the west, down in PA we got more rain, but eastern New England is getting more freezing rain and sleet, which is far worse than snow.
My neighbors and I spent a couple of hours shoveling a couple inches of wet slop before it freezes. Would have rathered used the snowblower on 10 inches of white stuff.
I once heard Jim Cantore of TWC say, he would rather be wrong predicting 20 inches of snow and getting 10, than predicting 10 and getting a lot more and putting people in danger.

About 5 - 6 “ here outside of Altoona. Local CBS affiliate called for 6 - 10 “.
It rained on top of the snow, making it very heavy.
We’re gonna have some flooding when this melts because the water table is totally full with no place for it to go but downhill.

Well sure, he gets no camera time in overperforming storms.

so they pivot and talk about the freezing cold and they move cantors to Vermont lol.

Sister had plan flight yesterday to Aruba and they cancelled it along with 2k other flights in us. All because of the hype.

No rain at all yesterday in Boston. Nothing.
They cancelled it ahead of time and moved it to Monday.
I think it is still raining in Boston. Now she leaves tomorrow am but roads may freeze up. Crazy!

If the weather channel doesn’t know what is happening then just say so. I know I know they must get everyone in alert but they alerted at first 210 million in its path. Then 105 million.( their words) then they put is at millions. Lol.

Well until the next storm gets hyped. Good luck digging out of 2.8 inches of snow in Indy. Etc.

How much snow did you get. Anyone south of state college get snow?

Newburg, PA had between 6-9".
Baltimore it poured and now is very sunny but very, very windy.

My wx app predicted a storm total of 12-18" for SW NY. I plowed and snow throwed (threw?) about 15" this morning, which makes this one of the few times it's been accurate.

Most weather people I've known are like Cantore: they believe it's better to disrupt viewers' plans than potentially cause the harm, possibly death. I agree.

Temp here is supposed to be -3° overnight, then in the low 40s on Wednesday. WTF, Mother Nature? Pick a season and stick to it!

14", Funk Ohio. Predicted 8 - 18, nice range, lots of error. Drifting to 3 feet deep. It took me nearly 2 hrs to plow the driveway (120 yards long + parking pad). Very happy to park the tractor and try to warm up. My wife shoveled the side walk as I plowed. She is a trooper.

COLD, it's now 5 degrees and heading for -10 tonight. Spring is just around the corner, I need to drag a groundhog out of its burrow to see the shadow early tomorrow morning.

The Shadow Knows.

In northwest Ohiya, one weather person said we could see 1’ drifts!!
Holy Hannah
Seriously, a whole 1’ drift.
Equivalent to yelling fire in a theatre.

I got about 14 inches. They were predicting 10. Spent two hours digging out

We got around the same in Lilly, but hard to tell cause the wind hasn't stopped since it started. We got a good amount of sleet also.

I blew the driveway off a couple times last night cause I was afraid it would rain then get cold and I would wake up to a big block of ice.

I had around an inch of sleet and blown snow this morning. Threw down some salt and that got rid of most of it.

Now it's 3 degrees with some wickedly strong winds. Give me a huge snowstorm and 20 degrees any day over this.

Can’t accurately forecast weather a week away, but we’re certain that we’re doomed 20 years from now because of climate

Climate and weather aren’t the same, big hoss. This is literally 3rd grade science standards.
