Hey guys!

I was just accepted into Penn State Graduate school! I am very excited and ready to devote my heart to Penn State! I can't wait to get to university park and attend the Pitt game. I am going to need some help from all of you. I want to dive into the culture of Penn State and find out who WE really ARE. I have a ton of questions! Coach Franklin even DMd me a "congrats" I am excited to dive into this upcoming season! Teach me how to be a Lion!

1. Who is our Rival?

-Why are they our Rival?

-What is our overall record?

-Any great rival moments?

2. What are traditions on and off the football field we should be aware of? (Going to Pitt game)

3. Who is our all time best player?

4. Who is our most successful player (Professional career in NFL)

5. What are our expected record or post season status every year?

6. Do we have national championships? How many? when was the last one?

7. Most famous alumni (Non sports related)

8. Are there any other sports that I should watch out for?

9. Any one I should follow on twitter to get good coverage of the Penn State sports?

10. Why do you love Penn state?

Great questions....my thoughts, FWIW:

1. Who is our Rival? Our rival is winning with grace and class in a environment where "student" comes before "athlete". We lost our traditional rivals when we joined the B1G. I would have said Pitt or WVU, back in the day, but that is no longer true.

-Why are they our Rival?

-What is our overall record?

-Any great rival moments?

2. What are traditions on and off the football field we should be aware of? (Going to Pitt game) Success with Honor. Black Shoes, no flash/all substance. Class on and off the field. Linebacker U.

3. Who is our all time best player? IMHO, our best all time player was LaVar Arrington. But that may change to Saquon Barkley by year end.

4. Who is our most successful player (Professional career in NFL) Jack Ham. Today, Sean Lee and/or Allen Robinson.

5. What are our expected record or post season status every year? We expect to compete for the B1G every year. We have been a notch below tOSU and Michigan but that will change this year.

6. Do we have national championships? How many? when was the last one? Google is your friend. However, we are traditionally under-ranked so the "opinions" of mythical national championships mean little. We compete to win on the field, We Are! not defined by what other people think.

7. Most famous alumni (Non sports related). Betty James, who invented and sold the Slinky.

8. Are there any other sports that I should watch out for? Wrestling, WVB, Soccer, Hockey

9. Any one I should follow on twitter to get good coverage of the Penn State sports? ChiTownLionPSU, GoPSUSports and GoPSUJeff.

10. Why do you love Penn state? "Success with Honor" "Black Shoes, Basic Blues, No Name, All Game"

Like many on the board, I have seen generations of kids but this guy left me gobsmacked more than any other player.

The Redskins coaching completely ruined his NFL career.
