It's true--listen I'm on your side with starting Allar the rest of the year but you were wrong the last two weeks. It's about Allar's development
People act like trace McSorley wasn’t 3 inches shorter than Clifford and yet never turned over the ball or made bonehead plays at the rate Clifford does. The turnovers are a combination of a poor offensive line telegraphed play calls at the other team has scouted and Cliffords in ability to move players or anticipate. He stares guys down doesn’t seem to check out of plays the other team is prepared for and it’s not good throwing the ball on the move despite our coaching staffs continued focus on rolling him out of the pocket
You had me until throwing on the run. Most of his TOs are from in the pocket. At least if he moves the OL wouldn’t be so bad. On second thought, he just is not good and neither is the OL.
The primary problem is that there’s no penalty for him playing poorly and tossing costly interceptions because everyone is afraid of the negative message it sends. That mentality why this team is not going to be any different anytime in the next 10 years. Think Saban gives one damn about yanking a guy for poor performance. No he gets chewed out in front of the world and it probably doesn’t happen again or he doesn’t play.
I thought Clifford made some nice plays. The problem is he pretty much was involved in 21 points for Ohio State. I don't know if we score 31 with Allar at QB, but maybe Ohio State doesn't score 44 and we don't need it.
