It sucks that top Pa kids don't seem to have in-state loyalty, but there is really nothing new here. The #1 ranked Pa recruit has now left the state in 10 of the last 14 years. As of today, Pitt, PSU and Temple have just 1 commit this cycle from Pa.
What makes it even more problematic is that Pa no longer has the depth of talent to sustain an elite program. The #3 ranked kid this year is a 5.6 three* QB whose best offer is from Rutgers. Apparently coaches around the country agree with Rivals rankings since most recruits, other than Carmody and Fleming, boast a MAC level offer list.
Please excuse the expression, but, it is what it is. For every Carmody that leaves the state we need to bring in a Parks, maybe even a Fashanu. Now let's hope CJF can find a stud receiver who wants to play in front of 107,000 fans.
