If You Haven't Seen It

Still can’t believe they haven’t released the full plans to the public. Are they spending $700 mil only on the west stands and some new bathrooms and concession stands? Are there going to be 3 separate upper decks, when they’re done? That could look pretty odd as they are all different. I’ve never seen a stadium upgrade where the university didn’t release all the details before construction began.

Could be they don't have all the info yet. Have they decided on everything and what's to be in place and how the final product will look?

It's not unusual for college stadia to look different on each of the sidelines and/or endzones. Camp Randall has a balcony on one sideline and not on the other; Texas Memorial Stadiun has a balcony on both sidelines, but one looks different from the other.

In a perfect world, it would be nice to have a stadium that looks the same on all sides. However, just like old baseball stadia that had to be built to fit the confines, it just may be impossible for Beaver Stadium to look exactly the same on all sides because of space and topography.

In answer to your question, it appears as if the West side will be made up of a couple of balconies, which I believe will look similar to the South endzone section.

Beaver stadium is on flat ground surrounded by parking lots so they have space to do whatever they want.

The press box side will be getting double decked with suites and new press facilities in between. I still haven’t seen what is going to be done to the lower bowl other that what looks like “club” seating closer to the field.

I have no idea of the current suites are being razed and that side getting double decked as well, but if not what the hell are they doing with 700 million bucks? I know they’re building some sort of mixed use facility into the stadium as well but that does nothing to improve seating and amenities in the stadium.

How does one break ground before defining the scope? You come up with a design and then drop items midstream if costs run higher than projected. This is not normal.
Apparently they just aren't letting the public know. Kinda crimps any potential public backlash/questions they don't want to deal with? I give up.

From what I understand, most, if not all, of the seats on the West side will be chairbacks like in the South endzone, so the seating is going to be improved on that side.
