These kids had nothing to do with the academic fraud that graced the athletic teams from 1990-2010. They deserve their championship.
But don't tell me Dean and Roy were not complicate in this academic crap. They were. They knew and allowed it to happen. The abuse in this case is the athlete. Same as with JOHN Wooden and his bagman at Westwood.
That's CBB!
Roy is knee deep in the cesspool that is UNC. Between flipping classes to keep players eligible, knowing full well about paper classes, and pushing his athletes towards the same sham of a major, Roy is either a liar or the most stupid person on the planet.
In a way I am glad for the Carolina players. The loss to Villanova last year had to be devastating. I also can't help but think the Duke fans are pulling their hair out today.
Hey, Roy worked under Dean Smith!
Curley Vindicated!

Not a liar or stupid. After keeping up with facts coming out from the Martin and Weinstein reports and the NCAA (sworn testimony by parties involved in the case) the men's basketball team will be vindicated in this five year plus "investigation" by the corrupt NCAA when all said and done. Some of you should have learned during the Sandusky scandal the media will push to convict no matter what the facts are or truth.

Here is an analogy for you concerning the Sandusky scandal and the UNC issue. How about when people who do not understand or care about the facts state that Joe Paterno knew what was going on harboring a child molester. He had to know, Joe knew everything that went on in his program and at Penn State. He was the most powerful man on campus.
This is the same foolishness you are stating with Roy Williams having to know. Roy Williams has integrity like Joe Paterno. Their players and people who know them understand these are assumption they both knew all about these issue are wrong.

How about this instead. One of his STAR players from the 2005 title team said these things, not me. So what you're saying is that one of his STAR players is a liar, right?
North Carolina’s Dominance Fails to Cover Cheating’s Stain
Amid the blue-and-white pompoms, few are so rude as to mention that the University of North Carolina, the Microsoft of college basketball, remains enmeshed in a scandal of spectacular proportions. Put simply, for two decades until 2013, the university provided fake classes for many hundreds of student athletes, most of them basketball and football players.
Coach Williams’s longtime man Friday, Wayne Walden, a former academic counselor, played switchman, steering basketball players to these classes. A touch of plagiarism, a no-show, were O.K. if it gave the young man more time to work on his drop step. There was one goal: Keep those grade-point averages at the minimum needed to compete for the university.

Yes, I've read that as well sir.
Zero consequences for flagrant cheating by a university and it's athletic department.
Congratulations on the win at all costs.
Never get into a pissing contest with a skunk! - Joe Paterno.
mrtailgate is the skunk sir. So is 'artsandletters'

I suppose that having your head in the sand is better than it being stuck up....
What I predict in the future: Since UNC won THIS championship, the NCAA may well VOID the 2009/2005 was it NCAA championship.
I hope it does not happen, but it indeed may happen.
Why do you hope it doesn't happen? They were cheating when they won those championships. They also should have been ineligible to compete last year and this one.
I mean what you are hoping for is no consequences for two decades of cheating.
Try to imagine if Ohio State or Michigan football cheated like this for 20 years. Am sure you'd be singing a different tune.
