thanks for sharing ... now go back over to your board .. great stuff for growing the sport and taking a chance on doing something special .... but also realize there's no way you were getting that attendance number for a 'stand alone event' in Kinnick without the football game ..all is good ... congrats to Iowa and Okie St for pulling that off but as for attendance records it's sorta like two differnet animals ..one for indoor and one for outdoor

When Penn State does a match in Beaver Stadium... there will be 50,000 plus in the stands. I have no doubt. Great job by Iowa and it stands alone as a great event... but Penn States dual last year vs Iowa and the match this year vs Ohio State will surpass the excitement level even for Grapple on the Gridiron.

It was deafening in the BJC at many times during the match against Iowa. Literally deafening. You just can't get that feel in an open stadium. The added touches with the blue and white laser lightening, the smoke the wrestlers come out through... running out through the crowd to a raised mat... to the Penn State wrestler's favorite hype song blaring through the surround sound, audio system... just can't be beat. The blue hue throughout the entire arena. Nittany Lion logos circling on the mat in crisp white. Bravo to Iowa... but a match at the BJC... or in the future at Beaver Stadium just can't be beat.

I wouldn't be predicting absolute, guaranteed, success for a Beaver Stadium wrestling event. My hat's off to Iowa and Oklahoma State, as they took a chance and Mother Nature accommodated them. Really risky venture and it worked out. Next time, if it's us, or they try again, it's just as likely to be unsuccessful as successful.

...as I was walking into BJC on Sunday I said to my wife, "Gee, we could have scheduled this match in Beaver Stadium today!"...

...she replied, "Sure, and we would probably have a foot of snow in the stands ...like we had when we played football against TCU when we were in school!"...

...Is she always that negative? I know a good divorce attorney...
