The biggest "mistake" was not picking a starter before the season and sticking with it. This was the absolute last year to do a 4-man rotation until you found the guy. It's less about who they chose than when they chose him. I'm assuming they were pretty confident whoever won the spot would qualify no problem, but when you play with fire you sometimes get burned.
