Interesting Cleveland State Open Results

Even though there were no PSU wrestlers involved.....I thought some readers would be interested in some of the results from the Cleveland State Open. Many recent Ohio State recruits were involved as well as some other notable names. NOTE: If a wrestler lost before the semifinals....the best he can do is finish 5th. ENJOY:

285: Chase Singletary lost in the Quarters 15-3 to Devin Nye of Kent State. Nye went on to be Champ and Chase won out to finish 5th

197: Ben Darmstadt(Cornell) defeated Jacob Woodley (Oklahoma) 13-2 in the finals. That should interest Iowa fans

184: Nino Bonacorsi of Pitt defeated Ethan Smith ( Ohio State ) 8-6 in the round of 16. Bonacorsi went on to defeat Dakota Geer ( Edinboro ) 8-5 to win the Championship while Smith won out to finish 5th

174: Kaleb Romero ( Ohio State ) lost in the finals to Evan Delong ( Clarion ) 5-4

157: Fredy Stroker ( Finger Lakes Prep ) won the championship over Tyler Marinelli ( Gardner-Webb ) 4-3

141: Ben Freeman ....who defeated PSU's Nick Lee over the summer....lost via pin to Brenden Fitzgerald ( Ohio State ) in the 2nd round. Neither wrestler placed.

133: Vito Arujau ( Cornell ) won the championship by defeating Micky Phillippi ( Pitt ) 11-5
Drew Marten ( Central Michigan ) defeated Noah Baughman ( Cornell ) 7-3 to finish 3rd

I was surprised by Ben Darmstadt's margin of victory over Jacob Woodley but I was most surprised by Chase Singletary losing 15-3 to Devin Nye. YOUR THOUGHTS???
