He sounds like he doesn’t want to go 84 full time, so it’s probably 74 or RS.My thoughts are: Is Gabe going 74 or 84 come March? And is Keuter going tomorrow night?
Is that a nonsensical pick? You had to find fault with me somewhere, right? What a shock: Wild Jerk has Franek over Robb...
You are easy to find fault with. We will see tomorrow if that pick is correct. Is that a nonsensical pick? You had to find fault with me somewhere, right?
You lost me after “smart move” & “Brands” in the same sentence.Smart move long term for brands is redshirt arnold and kueter. Hope kueter still wrestles and Arnold 'doesn't regress in that rm. arnold not winning 4 natty’s may have a shot at AA this yr at 74. Kueter i doubt has a shot at AA this yr and if he shines on the field, why would he risk a big payday.
It doesn’t make sense to RS Kueter at all. It’s almost guaranteed that he won’t wrestle senior year if he’s preparing for the NFL Combine and draft, so any year saved will just be wasted.Smart move long term for brands is redshirt arnold and kueter. UNI freshman Ryder Downey just beat Robb last week. I don't think my pick is far-fetched. Robb is a talented kid. So is FranekYou are easy to find fault with. We will see tomorrow if that pick is correct.
Yes, Iowa can, and probably will, win the dual meet, but I don't believe I have seen it from Franek yet how he is beating Robb outside of Carver.
That's Robb's only loss this year. He beat Teemer and Lewan. 8-2 over Lewan is practically a TF over anyone else.UNI freshman Ryder Downey just beat Robb last week. I don't think my pick is far-fetched. Robb is a talented kid. So is Franek
None of your picks are far fetched individually. Picking Iowa to sweep every toss-up match is much more far fetched than any of the picks by itself. That’s why this dual is so intriguing. There are tons of matches that could go either way, but it’s not likely either team wins all of them.UNI freshman Ryder Downey just beat Robb last week. I don't think my pick is far-fetched. Robb is a talented kid. So is Franek
Yes.Is this match on BTN tonight??
And meteorologyIf you listen to MSU158 (the ULTIMATE PSU HATER), he will use calculus, trigonometry, physics, and engineering, to tell you how Iowa wins tonight.
He used to be on the mat 😂, dude is the OG of all our haters. And meteorology
I don't really get Teske's ranking, though. He's top 10 in both InterMat and Flo (and 12 on Wrestlestat FWIW), but he hasn't really done anything to justify it this year or last. His best win this year is against the guy Nagao dominated and twisted into a pretzel for Oregon St, and he got smoked by Frost at CyHawk.Van Dee is 0-5 against ranked wrestlers. I know he wrestled Teske close earlier, but I don't see 133 as a toss-up.
IMO, Neb has to win at least one of 125 or 157.
Ayala 3-0
Teske 6-0
Woods 9-0
Lovett 9-4
Robb 9-7
Caliendo 12-7
Arnold 15-7 (MD minus 1 point for spanking)
Pinto 15-11
Allred 15-14
HWT ????????
I'm leaning toward an Iowa win.
6:30 (Eastern)Is this match on BTN tonight??
My TV guide is showing it from 6:30-8:30 (Central)6:30 (Eastern)
He beat Whisenhut from Oregon St 18-8 and Nagao won 9-0. Also, to get “smoked” wouldn’t you think the opponent scored bonus? He lost 8-1.I don't really get Teske's ranking, though. Well, he is 6-1 this year and most of the people behind him have many more losses. And, last year his worst loss was Philippi from Pitt. Nothing outrageous about his rank.I don't really get Teske's ranking, though. Yeah, you're right. 6:30 local time, which is Central. My TV guide is showing it from 6:30-8:30 (Central)
There's no mathematical definition of "smoked". That was a qualitative statement from watching the match. He beat Whisenhut from Oregon St 18-8 and Nagao won 9-0. Also, to get “smoked” wouldn’t you think the opponent scored bonus? He lost 8-1.
I'd have to lean Teske rather than calling that a toss up, although I agree it will likely be close. This is going to be one of the best matches on the B1G schedule.
125 Ayala vs Smith Toss-Up
133 Teske vs Van Dee Toss-Up
141 Woods vs Hardy IA Dec +3
149 Rathjen vs Lovett NE Dec -3
157 Franek vs Robb Toss-Up
165 Caliendo vs Taylor IA Dec +3
174 Arnold vs Wilson IA MD +4
184 Riggins vs Pinto NE MD -4
197 Glazier vs Allred NE Dec -3
HWT Kueter vs Hutmacher Toss-Up
That’s dead even. Who wins the toss-ups?
How many losses does Franek have this year? The Robb loss to Downey was recent and surprising. Chittum just beat Teemer recently aswell and Franek has a win over Chittum in Ames. That's Robb's only loss this year. He beat Teemer and Lewan. 8-2 over Lewan is practically a TF over anyone else.
Given their H2H history, Robb should be a slight favorite. Robb beat Franek 7-4 in last year's dual. Franek won 3-1 SV at nationals when Robb was halfway in an ambulance.
This - a variant of ISUs choke job. Iowa circles the wagons very well given fairly even oddsThis will be a good match. I think Iowa wins. The Hawks, have a way of figuring this kind of match out. Plus the Hawks haven't lost to Nebraska in the last 15 matchups. I think the pressure for Nebraska to win will be the detriment of this match. I'll be watching for sure.
Nothing you said is wrong, just a little variant within the range of reasonable outcomes. This match is razor thin no matter how you look at it.I'd have to lean Teske rather than calling that a toss up, although I agree it will likely be close.
Predicting a major for Arnold? You have to do more than wait for one countershot to bonus a legitimate D1 starter. They will be better off with Kennedy, he may not be able to beat Arnold but he'll beat Wilson and is much more likely to put up bonus.
If they throw Riggins out there I would worry about giving up the fall if I was Iowa.
Not sure putting Keuter out there for his first match against a guy that is cutting to get to 285 is the best idea. I would bet they'll go Hill.
Not to change the subject to ISU but they did indeed choke hard this year. Dresser really crapped the bed that day. I was just thinking about that yesterday when I chatted with my ISU friend from work. Tom Brands would've never made those mistakes. I'm thankful for thatThis - a variant of ISUs choke job. Giving 60 pounds is not super undersized? One guy on his way up in weight and the only on his way down.Nothing you said is wrong, just a little variant within the range of reasonable outcomes. This match is razor thin no matter how you look at it.
I want to see Kueter vs Hutmacher. Kueter is supposedly like 220-230 now, so he won't be super undersized.
Not really for heavyweights, no. He's going to have to get used to guys that big, and 220-230 on a football player is plenty powerful enough.Giving 60 pounds is not super undersized? One guy on his way up in weight and the only on his way down.
That said, I would love to see this match as well. The more athletic guy vs the guy who just cut 40ish pounds
