Hey Pat, who's the guy who tweeted a thread detailing how Iowa broke rules to get Peterson?
Not his name (that was posted) but his place in the sport that we might consider him credible. He seems to have some insight to NJ but has no bio and so few followers ... that raises flags.
I didn't link his thread because I'm not sure if he's credible. But if he is, the allegations were pretty specific.

It was a 5 or 6 post thread. He said that Tom Brands talked with Peterson during NCAAs after a match, and Larry Lee followed up. Then came the "NIL" offer including performance incentives (which are illegal).
The Lee and Slumlord parts aren't earth shattering, but this is the first time I've read about Brands personally trying to recruit another team's wrestler during NCAAs. And that guy said something to the effect of having some evidence.
I saw the same thing and they were all reposts by Mineo. I can't remember the guys name either.
I am certain Tom doesn't have any part in recruiting kids right out of other programs' wrestling rooms. Larry Lee and Bob Nicolls do what they do without Tom's knowledge and guidance.

I don’t know about all that can’t speak directly on what that person said, but I can confirm after Dean pinned Richie, Brands said something to him as he passed by. ASU coaches in corner heard it. Something about liking his attitude or his grit or something. He did celebrate like a wild man. Unfortunately still needed another win to AA tho LOL

Have you heard the news? In the April HR fantasy NCAA championships for 2026, Iowa has 5 finalists and scores 158 points. Yet they still lose by 22. They can't even dream large enough anymore.

Someone was interviewing him before (I believe) it was worlds and they were talking about his competition and he merely said he’s probably most worried about “the Jap”.
